I will be in BKK first time for a few days and will be able to visit MP only once. Reading all the posts I get the impression that Poseidon is the best though the most expensive. Do all agree? Are there any tips for getting sidelines there as this is probably what I will be doing?

Get therer around 7.00 weekdays, 6.00 Saturday forget
Sunday since the 3rd floor girls mostly take their day off
then and the place is full of Sunday golfers, Japs, Koreans etc waiting in line for the limited talent.
Tip if nothing is available take a short walk around the
corner 100 meters to Cabana where they have two massage parlours plus limited sideliners

for example, compared to annies which may be considered bottom of the list in quality, poseidon is near the top of the list?

I do not think that Poseidon is the be all end all of MP's. I think if you get the right female then any place can be great.
I think that if you are able to go to any one of these 4 Mp's then you will not be dissapointed.

Starbuyer, there are lots of posts on Poseidon with lots of different perspectives and experiences. Check them all out.
You might want to more specific with regards to the word "quality". No one will dispute that Annie's is not in the top tier (or maybe even middle tier) in terms of looks (and youth), but supposedly they make up for it in the quality of their service. But, if money is not the main concern then you can, IMO, do much better.
All the girls I've seen in the model lounge are attractive, IMO, but the criteria for "model" is not just about objective beauty. Some of the models are no more attractive than the top 10% of the fishbowl girls.
To get the best choice of model you should go as early as possible. Try tipping the manager when you get to the lounge and don't be coerced into choosing a girl right away (there may actually be none available). Have a seat in the restaurant, order dinner and have a drink while checking out the coming and goings of the girls so you can get a feel for the talent before making a selection. But on a busy night the most attractive girls are going to spend almost no time sitting around waiting to be chosen.
There are others on the board who probably know, but going on a Sunday may be an advantage. I would think that the manager would be able to call in some of the girls from the model book (especially if you made it worth their while). If you know who you want you can also have pre-arranged appts on other days.

Don't forget that quality changes over time as well. There was a time when Victoria's Secret was the place to be (back when the Davis Group only had one MP), remember?
For those new to the LOS, it's adviseable to spend one night MP hopping (10-12 places) to find 2-3 places that CURRENTLY have nice product.

I've never been, but it does have it's devoted fans. I've inferred that this is because the quality of looks + service is a good deal for the price. For those sensitive to price and looking for dirrrty girls it may be the best option.
