I know these two places are pretty close to each other on Ratchada Pisek, right? If I'm staying at Majestic (Sukhumvit and Soi 4-6) can I walk to these to places? I'm sure I'll end up taking taxis some places, but I really enjoy the walk and it helps me get my bearings for the city. How far would it be? Miles? HS

If you don't have a Thai friend with you, it is better that you walk, since a taxi might take you some where else. But the walk will take a while in really hot weather. Think about the benefits of walking, you can visit Nataree, Speed Massages and Emmanuelle on your way to Mirage.

69er, I get the impression from the map that it is a long walk. Can you make a guess on how long? Kris

Thanks Kris... I'm still waiting for my full sized maps of BKK and Pattaya to come in the mail from Thai tourism. Just can't get a visual on how far it is from Majestic to these places on Ratchada HS

Hi again HS, I am not sure exactly how far but I am sure it is a minimum of 1/2 hour walk if not more. Maybe someone more familiar with Bangkok can enlighten. While you are waiting for the map from Thai Tourism, you might want to check out http://www.bangkok-maps.com/ The maps are not to scale but atleast they give you some idea of the city. Kris

Hi.. You wanna walk from Majestic Suites to Mirage? Yes..You can walk. Theoretically, you can walk from BKK even to Chiang Mai. But it'll need superhuman staminer. It'll spend about 2hours or so under the terrible sunlight and the hot air of Thailand. Do you like the U.S Marine Corps training? If you like it, challenge this Majestic-Mirage trekking. Good luck for you~~

HS Walking for Majestic Suites to Ratchadapisek would be a long walk indeed. You'll need a good bath after that!!! Just take a taxi to Emerald hotel, then walk from there. If you want to get to Poseidon though, it is quite a distance away. In that case, just tell the taxi to go to Soi 17, Poseidon is at the corner. The maps on this site are just indicative of the relative positions and are not to scale. So, they do not give you a hint as to the distance between two points. BK

Hey HS, Here's a good idea. Treat the Majestic-Mirage walk as a good suna. Follow it up with the bath and massage Kris

Sorry for the misspelling HS. I meant sauna and not suna. But then I guess you would have figured it out after that long walk under the hot sun Kris
