I enjoy going to the soapies along Ratchapisek, but traffic is always a bitch. Can someone suggest what the quickest way to get there is from the Sukhumwit area other than waiting till next year when the subways begin rolling? Thanks.

Or u could just keep your pants on (or keep using the nice local places; like Nana..) and wait for the subway/underground/U-bahn... to be completed early next year (or so we hope) :D - Edit.. Bollocks!!!!! Sorry for speaking before checking the data. The subway opens, probably, in august 2004. Last I heard before checking the webpage was Jan/Feb 04. You can check the lines at http://www.angkor.com/2bangkok/Subway/MRTA02.shtml Sorry!

Back to BK's motorcycle strategy I guess. One good thing about going by motorsy... when you reach Ratchada you will really need that bath. As Yurune pointed out, the transit is better now that the northbound Asoke lane is back. Use BTS to the Asoke station, descend to the street on the Westin Hotel corner and pick up a cab northbound. Should be 15-20 minutes unless traffic really sucks. Try to avoid the evening rush hour (5-7pm).
