I saw something on the TV news last night and it was over in flash. It looked to me like like the Biwa MP getting raided: a sign out front with three thai characters (for "B" and "W" and a third I didn't get), plus interior shots of an empty fishbowl.
Was this new or just some old file footage?

I witnessed another Biwa Cafe raid earlier this year, as usual with Channel 3 filming. Dozens of police.
As events proceeded, what I took to be The Boss arrived.
An expensively dressed woman, extremely attractive, in her mid-thirties, driving a black BMW parked at the door and quickly entered.
To put things in perspective, Thai police are conducting around 900 raids a day on entertainment venues. That's about one every 2 minutes day and night.
They are either attempting to re-establish their kickback payments or trying to put these places out of business. Thaksin would prefer the latter, established not by a ban, but by making them econmically unviable so they close "voluntarily". Constant harrassing raids filmed for TV assist this objective, simply because they keep customers away.
In the end, that's the objective, in Biwa or anywhere else.
