Hi, I'm a Korean American that's currently studying in the states. I bought a ticket to Amsterdam for my Thanksgiving break, but now I'm having some headaches. I thought Amsterdam was going to be a lot of fun at first, but rld's, sex clubs, and the escorts looks like $$$$. I've been to bkk 2 times this past summer. I was thinking about $3,000 for a week in Amsterdam w/o the plane tickets and hotel, but $3,000 for bkk in a week makes a lot of difference. The thing is I like to smoke and Amsterdam is the best place for it, but sex wise I still think nothing can beat bkk. What would you guys do? $3000 a week in Amsterdam, rio, or bkk? Give me some pro. advice~ Thanks.

I've been to BKK and Amsterdam but not Rio. BKK always wins for me. The RLD in Amsterdam is not my speed at all, 15 minutes for 50 Euro! The sex clubs and massage places are ok about 150-250 Hours an hour, but not the selection you get in BKK but of more varied race. The only place in Adam that was mind blowing IMHO is Yab Yum but VERY expensive.
The option I like in europe is Prague, K5 is a great place, I have also heard good things about german FFK clubes.

I'm American, and I've been to all three of those places
(10 times BKK, 6 times AMS, 1 time Rio), and I'd pick Bangkok. RLD isn't that expensive, 50 euros for 20 minutes, but I don't like to feel rushed. Hotels in Amsterdam are very expensive. I stayed in a small room with private bath for abut the same as I paid for 5 star accomodations in Bangkok using Priceline. Restaurants are also relatively expensive, everything looked about 30% more expensive last spring compared to the last time I was there just 3 years ago, because of the recent strength of the euro. You'll need to find some restaurants after leaving the coffeehouses.  However, I should think 3K for a week excluding airfare should be much more than adequate. It would take a smokestack to go through that much hooch.
Rio has great beaches and hot women, but it's very dangerous. Don't want to wander far off Avenue Atlantica, don't wear any jewerly in public, and flashing 3K around is an easy way to end up in the morgue. Also, very little English is spoken there, so unless you know Portugese you may feel lost.
I wouldn't recommend having anything to do with drugs in either Bangkok or Rio, you'd be taking some very serious risks that aren't worth it. Not a problem in AMS, but my memory seems to be very hazy  on this subject.

Just to state the blindingly obvious...
THEY ARE NOT THE SAME!
Think about what you want.
The choice for me would be Rio de Janeiro or BBK...
but BBK is much easier for a holiday, cheaper, the women are 24 / 7, gentle, lower maintenance, kinder.
Rio is a huge rush if you have a very, very big budget...
You can do fantastic things there.... the women are hot, hot, hot, but I recon it is 10 times more expensive.

Have most experience with BKK and Rio, so I'll limit my comments to them.
I love BKK. However, nowhere near as good as used to be (my timespan is ~ 15 years). Attitutes of the girls have changed, more more common now to get a bad one.
Rio is a blast. Women are absolutely beautiful, very "healthy' and athletic in general, and a LOT of fun. A little more in the way of a language barrier, but I've found that most speak some English, so communication no more difficult than BKK. As for price, maybe 50% higher than BKK which to me is acceptable with the quality. By the way, I've never found Rio dangerous, as long as you take care as you would in any city.
