Got a really nice e-mail from one of the owners of Giligans club in Pattaya. I was inquiring about the testing of girls in that part of Thailand and he wrote this back.
"...the only women to get tested as a requirement are the ones that work in go-go's with a cabaret license. These type of legally licensed establishments like Giligin's are required to have their girls tested (visually) once per week and bloodwork done every 6 weeks. If documentation of these tests are not in the employees file when the police come to inspect which is about once every 3 months and that girl is working one of us management and the girl goes to jail for the night and a heavy fine is levied. Now the beer bars and massage parlors for the most part do not and are not legally required to have their girls checked out but for the most part at least the ones I frequent try to keep their girls pretty clean as they do not want a bad reputation. And then you have the 3rd level of working girl, they are the freelancers or walking girls, these ladies have no one to account for and do as they please, some just simply don't want to work at a go-go or bar and some are sick and could not pass a test. Enough said, try to stay away from freelance girls and girls that don't require a condom...But if you want a quickie bj, I really don't think you have to worry very much about getting one from anybody and I mean any old whore. Shit, don't think about it too much and get ready for the best time anyone could ever have."
Any comments about the testing of massage girls??

We've touched this subject before and the general opinion is that you should assume that there is risk with all the girls. Unless they have a check up after each client and we know that doesn't happen

I agree with that Dave said. Its important to always assume there is a risk. I used to go to mona lisa often, different girls, and ask them if they got tested. One girl would say yes, its routine once a month, etc. Then another would tell me its routine every 3 months, etc.. So I'm not sure how consistent the testing is. Ive also heard stories (which I believe) of some girls paying some unscrupulous doctors $$ to mark a negative result on their cards, etc..
I remember some time ago, at the Pink Lady in Hat Yai, right outside the main doors they actually had a Pink Lady "Health Clinic" (with a big "health clinic" sign in english). Obviously, they wanted to make it known to clientale that the girls there were tested on a regular basis. Whether they were or not is another thing.

Thailand has a thriving sex industry. If a few certificates help things along then they will appear. Its Marketing.

I agree with Dave, but hope that it's not completely true.
Let me explain: I am hoping that the large g-clubs and MP's do regulate and check their ladies on a regular basis. With that being said, even with the certificate, she is only as clean as her last customer!! So, be safe!!

Guys,
I have experienced in Patpong to pick up a girl who wanted w/o condom to have a baby. The scam was to make me subject to paying monthly fee. She produced a cerificate showing that she had aids test negative. It turned out she was a lady boy. I assume thee cerificates are fake, allthough the have an "official" design.
Maybe Thaiprivateeye can comment on the validity of these certificates
