Hello I am a newbie here and have only experienced one soapy which was a during a visit one year ago when I was charged 8000 baht for a soapy at J One, although it was a great massage I feel that I paid way over the odds, can somebody tell mw what the usual price is and where the best place to have a massage is ? The average rate is about 2500 baht, plus about 500-750 baht tip, and optional 200 baht for drinks in the room.
Darlings (soi 12) and Poseidon (on Rachadapisek, 4 stops north on subway from Sukhumvit) are popular choices that are easy to find, but you can read the soapy forums for other choices.

I am trying to imagine how you got clipped for that much.
Even the papsan at Emmanuelle cannot say 3000B with a straight face.
I am curiuous how the negotiation went.
Did the papasan say 8000THB and you said OK ??
Did you pull into the parking lot with a 2005 Benz or Ferrarri ?
I am trying to imagine how he nailed you like this.

Sounds like you fell on one ofe the usual scam. Did you get a TV or was the girl Shakira or some kind of celebrity?
Try Annies near the Rajah Hotel. Price is 1500 Baht for 2 hours and sometimes you will find a 7 or better.

I'll echo Rico's recommendation. Yes, they might not be the best looking, but, at least in the past, service was good (for the most part), and, my experience (several years worth), never ripped. Good to get a feel for the experience before venturing into more of the combat zones.
And, as always, read, read, read past posts. The time you spend will result directly in more baht remaining in your wallet.

First time poster, long time resident of southeast asia. A quick comment on Annies - the talent is good in so far as their performance; but to be blunt, they're hags. Now I realize some will disagree, but take 100 steps due NE to the nana complex and you'll see much more attractive ladies. A good recommendation is to try out Annies to get one's feet wet, then move on to the big show. While there, talk sidebar with the mamasans and managers - they're VERY friendly and helpful. Tell them what you'd LIKE to see working at Annies, within reason: i.e., fewer of what they have, and more "healthy" looking gals. Afterwards, goto soi 5 or 7, pick up a girl from one of the local pool bars for around 1500, and take her to your room...just make sure she knows what you want before you strike a deal. cheers.

Was always happy with the service at Annies. Ok, sometimes there arenīt any stunners at the fishbowl, but in that case I left for a beer at the Nana hotel and returned later. Never had a bad experience there and the prices are more than fair. At Darlings you will pay 1000 Baht more for the same service.

I was staying in the Oriental hotel on company business and being driven around bkk in chauffered Merc Limo, the driver reccomended a massage and I just went with it (seeing some of the posts about taxi drivers, I guess these Limo drivers are on some sort of commision too) and when we got there the guy (I guess Papasan) said 10000 baht and I said forget it so when I turned to leave he cut it down to 8000, but I guess the room was a standard room, there was certainly no TV, I guess you live and learn.......... Thanks for the info.
