I'm with you on Mona Lisa. I visited on my last trip and nearly blew chunks when I got a sniff of the towels. They have this smell that seems something like wet towels that have been left for a week or so combined with dried on cum. Yikes!!! It's really tough to understand why management can't do such a simple task like WASHING THE DAMN THINGS!
Anyway, it's a bit of catch 22 as the girls and especially price of Mona Lisa are pretty good as MP's go. We probably need to come to a consensus on best sub 2,000 baht location. Opinions?

Maybe you could just take your own towels to Mona Lisa? Most Thais don't own clothes dryers. They are probably saving a few baht by doing their own linen and then drying the towels on a clothesline. Towels dried on a clothesline end up sort of like cardboard until you use them a time or two.
Although that doesn't account for the smell

There are not really places to avoid. There are places where you can pay too much ( i think about J-one, Cupidy, ...) or they are quite dirty (Oscar, Harlem, all these oners located on Petchburi road).
