I'd like to know where y'all recommend eating. A suggestion or two near the hotspots would be great! 
Captain Farang suggested I add what I like... First I'd like to try some authentic Thai and things I can't get here in the U.S. After a while, though, I might be craving familiar foods like hamburgers, a steak, grilled chicken, etc...

there's a good restraunt across Sukumviet from Nana plaza and to the left. It's called Seafood something...is a tri level place on the corner. Good steak (Aussie I think) and other good food including Thai. Good luck. Better food in Chaing Mai.

I must say a favourite of mine is the Greek resturant Athena on Thonglor , Nice to have a different meal every now and then.

- probably the easiest, cheapest place - is in the front of foodland, sukhumvit soi 5, open 24 hours so thats a plus as well. It's probably a " good-diahrea" to steer clear of the foodcarts until your accustomed to the food !

Don't listen to him, the food carts are fine. You'll probably get diarea from the airplane food.

Just across Sukhumvit from Soi 4, between Soi 1 and Soi 3, there is a two story building that sells excellent fried chicken. There is a statute of an old southern gentleman in a white suit and a mustache and beard standing beside the front door. Directly across Sukhumvit, there is a place that sells hamburgers and fries. They have a strange sign that has two yellow arches on it. Can't remember the names of these two restaurants but they are pretty good. Hope this helps you.
