Supaporn, Pretty sure it was local, I think. They had some write up about special aging and about raising their own cattle, but the foggy haze of holiday indulgence clouds my memory. Now this steak was their best and I wasn't disappointed. Prior to this every steak ordered in LOS major disappointment. Desclaimer, I love Thai food. The steak, salad, and baked patato was on par with the better steakhouses in the US. Bring big appitite plenty to eat. Next time going upcountry will stop at Chok Tsi going/leaving. Anybody have any other dining suggestions, don't limit it to steaks.

A good steak? Miracles still happen in this lovely country. Before every now and then I had the same desire to try a steak, on most occasions I got a shoe sole and have decided to give up on steaks. Steak lovers don't give up, it is probably just me who has others priorities than fancy food.

gentlemen. chok chai steakhouse is undoubtably the best local steak place. there are branches at vibhavadi rangsit road and one near silom village 2, at the back of soi 23. their own farm is on the highway to korat. there are several other places offering a good steak. new york steakhouse (JW marriott) henry j. beans (amari watergate) tony romas (nai lert building, between suk soi 3 and 5) kobe steakhouse (siam square) el gaucho (asoke place) outback (siam discovery) steakhouse one (suk soi 4) there are numerous other places, but I have only been to the ones I listed. I mean you can have a t-bone at rangsit with baked potato and beans for 89 baht!! ringtbonebells

I've tried the OUTBACK (Siam D.), Tony Romas (Suk.) and the Chock Chai steakhouse near Rangsit. Outback gets my vote by a couple of inches....

RTB I think you mean Neils Tavern? Wireless Road end of Soi Ruam Rudee? Nice atmosphere and quite good Farang type food. In general I think Chokechai Steakhouse is rubbish - the steaks are always cut way too thin and rarely cooked the way you order them - being so thin they invariably come to the table well done. Every time I go to Khao Yai with a group of Thai friends they insist on stopping at this place - I'd much rather eat the Barbecues Pork they sell on Thanarat Road, about Km. 4 from Mitrapap Highway - but they - my friends - regard Chokechai Steakhouse as a real Farang food restaraunt and thus an essential part of a trip to that part of Thailand.

Safety comes first. Some steaks that I had would challenge a vet to bring it back to live.

The steak I got at Choke Chai was NO THIN steak, over inch and quarter thick (metric challenged). Again I ordered their best, the 28 day aged bacon wrapped filet mignon. It was cooked exactly the way I ordered it. I did not order the cheap steak, this was a 1,000baht steak and worth every baht. I've paid $27US for like steaks in US. The very next time will get the same steak again, it was great. Bros thanks for the other steak tips. Next time in LOS and get that red meat hankering will try. I always get plenty of Thai TUNA in Los! It is soooo tasty! 55555 Bros!
