I just didn't understand 'dingy'. A little small yes,but sharply ran and good food soooo. Asia hotel IS a budget hotel though.

I went to Fogo Vivo last night despite the poor reviews on this thread. My TGF loved the place and I found the food to be decent. Is there better Brazilian in BKK, definitely. But if you look beyond the food, they have great service, nice decor, and an excellent salad bar. The salad bar I found to be top notch IMO. I found the meats to be flavorful and not overly marinated nor dry. Maybe I was there on a good night or have not had the ultra delicious Churrascaria some members have had the good fortune to try. But overall I think it was a good experience. My only complaints was the glass of wine filled very low and the aircon was set rather warm. Total tab with a glass of wine and Caipirinha was about 2840 baht. Tatler recommends making reservations but the place only had maybe 10 occupied tables on a Sunday evening around 9:15 PM.

A group of 5 of us tried A Garden last night. It was pretty disappointing.
First problem was the service was bad. There was a bug crawling around the lip of my friend's glass of water. He pointed it out to the waittress and she smooshed it, wiped it off and gave him back the same glass. We sat around after hitting the salad bar (which hardly had a selection at all) and it took a long time for the meats to arrive.
The meats then came. Some of them just way too rare. First up was a sausage which was OK. Then some beef which they did not say which cut it was, way rare for some of us, I don't like it when the meat is still purple. Then wings which weren't bad. Then ribs which were tough and bland. A leg of lamb, also way rare and bland. Then there was a cut of pork which was good. Finally they came out with some salmon on a plate and by golly, that one round was it. They do not come back with the meats. Oh I forgot about the pinapple, thin slices came out on a plate, not cut at the table on a skewer.
Fogo Vivo and the other brazilian BBQs I've been to come back around with the meat and there is way more selection. No filet mignon, no ancho, no picanha, no alcatra, no fraldinha, etc. I came to eat meat and got ripped off.
After reading several posts here, I was bitterly disappointed in every facet. What made it worse was that I brought along 4 of my buddies with me thinking it would be a good time and a good meal and it was not.
Fogo Vivo wins hands down in my book. I'd rather just eat at the salad bar there than return to A Garden.
