just tried bella napoli tonight.
biggest beef carpaccio I ever seen.
pasta from the oven with a dough top (a bit to al dente).
nice, big, solid pizza (called "the priest", half pizza, half calzone, with ricotta and rucola).
HUGE calzone.
2 carafes of house wine.
tasty tiramisu.
limoncello on the house.
total damage 3'000 baht.
surprisingly the place was empty.

Surprisingly? Why... place sucks. Maybe even the regular Japanese housewife clientele has finally caught on. But I doubt it...

DF, so you're a real gourmet and connaisseur (?S?P?) I got it...
But for the occasional Italian dish Bella Napoli makes a nice place... I agree that neither their pasta nor their main courses are 5* but the pizza is ok and the good points are: the price (!), some of the side orders are better than the main courses, their house grappa is great and the expresso is solid italian and not a tiny cup of americano... So Bella Napoli is the place if you want to take it easy...
For the real Italian experience I recomend the very cozy Antonio's on Soi Sawadee (Soi 31) next to the big former Silom Village Seafood restaurant or for a bit of showing off "La Villa" Thonglor, Soi 9.

I am not a real fan of italian but Basilicos on Soi 33 always seems to do a roaring trade. I have eaten there once and it was fairly nice but service was slow.

Prices upscale but definitely for quality. Delivery in SUK area. They do not have a restaurant but probably located near Asok area (my guess since they deliver my orders very fast!!!)

is Ronny's New York Pizza still in biz? they had a place on soi 4 and one by saphan thaksin...it was my fav delivery place...not the best I ever had but way better than the big chains..
