I knew you were a genius the whole time. This only provides further evidence. I live on soi 8 and truer words were never spoken.
The gauntlet is the only thing that prevents me from taking this hottie that I see every day in the last beer bar on the left - one time i stopped there for a coke after replentishing my toothbrush supply for guests and I ended up handing them out to all the girls there. -
Now the gauntlet always gives me BIIGG smileys as I go by to show me that they are using them.
I love this frickin place...

If I am correct, and please speak up bro's when not, the expression "the gauntlet" comes from running the gauntlet. A custom found, amongst others, in the navy of old. It is a form of punishment, where the person punished is stripped bare of his clothes and has to walk between 2 rows of ship members who hit him with a rope.
This is just one example of running the gauntlet. It is some kind of military expression anyway.
So imagine walking down this soi 8 and being accosted all the time by girls etc. That is running the gauntlet.

I had lunch at Malasia Aunty's this week. I did not know much about Indian food, but luckily for me, I was with Bros Kris and BK, the perfect companions for this type of outing, since they both know Indian food. I had the chicken Masala, which was great, and sampled a number of other dishes. I even developed a new appreciation of Bollywood films from the compilation tapes that were running on the small TV. The women in those musical numbers are WOW........I don't want my MTV anymore, but I might surprise Kris with a visit to Bombay. Thanks Kris........thanks BK.

I would assume that it still is open..
Great place to eat and even my Thai g/f likes the food so I get to eat there more often

Just make sure you get there after 1 pm. They open everyday... just a bit later on Sundays.
