I ate at Gaucho on my trip in December...it was good, but not spectacular enough to justify the price...our bill (two of us) came to 5,000!!
We had a nice salad (rocket with tuna or something like that), mixed grill, and I think a pasta dish...three glasses of wine and one beer, two desserts, and two shots of Limoncello.
Sorry, that is just too much for that amount of food. And it was good, but not superlative. There are plenty of other equally good restaurants in Bangkok where you can get the above for more like 3,000, if you want to splurge (and for me, anything much over 2,500 for dinner is a splurge!)
Now, I didn't try their highest quality steak...if we had had that over the mixed grill, it would have shot the bill way over 5k.
