WOW so many recomendations for where to go. I know the food is not the same here as in the normal UK places but I have been eating middle eastern food/indian/pakistany food since I was born, more than so called normal UK food, from all around the world not just UK. The indian food from Thailand is very salty and dose not have the spice level and has more gyee than mosy indian food from around the world. If you want indian food in the UK that is the same as you would get in India or Pakistan etc not anglo indian food there are loads of places. You will be the only none middel eastern person in there but if you PM I will tell you the places to go a few in London and a few in Birmingham. Still no takers on meeting up tonight for a curry and beer though, think I need to change my after shave. Yes as well I have noticed thai girls do not like Indian food makes me LOL when they try a please you and say"yes me like Indian I want to go with you" they sit down do not know what to order and then I order for them in Hindy or urdu depending in the menu so they do not know what they are getting and she eats one tea spoon and says me no hungry. When we leave she says "I want thai food now" I say HA!!!!

Shaga its too late to influence you last nights choice of dinner venue now but here's a little gem for future meals:
Forgot the name but here's how you get to it from Gullivers Tavern.
Cross the rooad from GT and get into that longish path that runs perpendicular to it. It is littered with perfume shops and stalls that sell phonecards.
Once you get to the end of the path, if you turn right you'll be at Grace Hotel, left and you'll come out at Sukhumvit.
But look straight ahead and you'll see a restaurant with an outdoor area decorated mainly in a shade of blue with guys smoking sheesha pipes.
They do a mix of indian & middle-eastern food. The kebabs and naan are the finest I have eaten in bangkok.

Very good Middle Eastern food can be had at a Lebanese restaurant called the Cedar Tree. Located on Sukhumvit Soi 49/9. Great food, great beer too! At location made beer with a touch of lemon, at 10 degrees a rather strong drink.
