well. you can get it cheaper without a bottle of wine and pre-cocktails. starters begin at 400, mains at 600 baht. table for 6 would recommend reservations. otherwise you might only have cocktails. if it's to steep, there is a starbucks downstairs. rtb

Yo RTB: Thanks again for the 411. I think I can pony up the $$ for the experience. ha ha ha!! $75 per person is reasonable for dinner, especially with drinks. I will definitely call ahead and make reservations. Thanks again.

My 2 cents worth.... I mostly agree with RTB. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit just for the view, which is truely spectacular. And it is a perfect place to impress. However... 1. It is open air. So at times it will be too windy, too hot or too wet. I have no idea what they plan to do when it rains. You certainly cant move into the big dome yet. 2. I thought the food was pretty mediocre. And expensive. 3. I found the jazz pretty bloody irritating. I dont really like jazz at the best of times but when the crooner in a white dinner jacket starts wandering around the tables, it all gets a bit much. One other plus. The restaurant serves food until 11.30pm and the bar stays open until 1.00am

I'm with Abrak here... you eat the view. The food is average at best and overpriced, doubtless due to the fact that they "prepare" the food on the ground floor and then elevator it up to 64 where it is "finished". The logistics make quality a real challenge. Personally I would be cautious about building an evening for 6 around dinner up there... the weather is unpredictable now thru October, and if it rains the place turns to chaos. I was told they will open inside dining up in the dome, but they would not commit to a date. Drinks are pricey, but worth it for the ambience... however you can't really chill out because the bar has no seating... standup only. To kick back and drain a few cocktails in comfort with the "skyscraper view" I prefer Vertigo... ABC... I've got some pix of the place... give you some idea of the layout; PM me with an email address if you want to have a look.

Can someone offer an opinion on how Sirocco compares with Vertigo? Food, view, location, attitude, staff, customers, bar area etc. anything really. I only plan to visit one this time around & would prefer to make an informed choice? Tie Break Question: Which one has the cutest waitresses?

The food is nothing special at either, but Vertigo is less expensive. The view might be a bit more dramatic from Sirocco because it's closer to the river, but at V you sit at the highest point of the building so the feeling is more.... vertiginous? (At S the topmost dome of the building is above the dining/bar area). I would say V's location is better, because traffic is not as bad on Sathorn as it is on lower Silom... but that depends on where you are and what day it is. I prefer the "attitude" at V... probably because it's been around longer the help seems less self important at V but the standard of service is good at both. S has more hiso Thai patrons, again because it is newer and the novelty factor is still there. I prefer the bar at V because you can sit down (at the bar or a table) and relax.. the bar at S is more like a service bar.. you can order a drink but you're not encouraged to linger and gawk the view. Both have a mix of waiters/waitresses... S probably has more "lookers" if you need to break a tie. Both suck if it rains.
