Correct. However, in some Spanish speaking countries Huevos is not the most widely used word for balls. In some places BOLAS (exact translation from balls) is more widely used. I would guess that in some other places neither "huevos" nor "bolas" is the most widely used word.

By the way, "PINGA" means a few things in Spanish slang, it could be "very good" like as in "esto esta de pinga" and it could also mean "dick" as in "mamame la pinga" (suck my dick). But I am sure you already knew this.

More on topic, the word in Spanish for a bull's cooked balls is "Criadillas". I have tried them and I did like them.

Although I said before that I would try almost anything, the one time when I had something and felt some apprehension was when drinking snake wine in Vietnam. The sight of so many snakes inside the bottle and knowing that they had been there for years didnt make me want to have a second serving

seubeu... cojones are balls right??? If no one told me what they were I'd be fine.... my problem's between my ears.

Nokna... ostrich meat is very common here, I assumed that it would be in the UK too. (then again, horsemeat's common here too and isn't in the UK). I ate ostrich not knowing what it was and thoroughly enjoyed it... like regular steak.

I always prefer to try it first and ask what it was second. Helps get past the mental images. Sometimes I think we're all just a bit too squeamish. Had a bit of trouble getting anticuchos into my mouth the first time, but that was another delicious one. Then there are some things I've tried and just said "not for me, thanks". Like roignons de veau. Don't know if that's exactly the spelling but I don't know how anyone can eat that stuff.

Pinga... are you Toto???

seubeu..
showing my ignorance again, what are "anticuchos" & "roignons de veau"??

I am trying to do the 'eat first ask second' thing... because I do think it is very rude to start pulling aprehensive faces or asking 100 q's before hand.

Anticuchos are barbequed bits of heart, a specialty in Peru.   Very delicious IMO.

Roignons de veau is veal kidneys, served in a nasty kidney gravy.   Don't find this one appealing at all, although apparently many people do, or it wouldn't have been on the menu.

I can't vouch much for the spellings on these two.

I really like these.  BTW, this is very western.  Same goes for chicken kidneys in gravy

It's very French, not too American. I like most French foods, but this, well, not for me, thanks. Something in there almost makes me hurl. And it's not like I even knew what it was when I tried it. Suppose it's good to understand all the words before you order in another language. Got the same thing with tripe soup in Spain when I could read half the menu. I even checked with the waiter and he translated as "beef", which I suppose it was. Just not the part of the cow I was expecting!

But the real point is that for just about any cuisine there can be surprises and things that people from other cultures don't like to eat. For the darling Ms. X, I am sure that there are some nice surprises in Dutch food for the unwary traveller. And some real gems, too, so discretely spit out the stuff you don't like and keep smiling.

I've eaten Anticuchos quite a few times in Peru.  They go crazy for them down there...  for me they were "ok" and more meaty than other "organs"....
