I have to retract my endorsement of Nana burger. They changed cooks and the burgers have sucked all summer. The schwarma guy is crushing them. There used to be a line for the burgers, this year I rarely see them even cooking for anyone. The new people have no clue how to cook and seem to prefer just loitering anyway.

That's unfortunate, but no surprise.
The new owners probably just thought that the mere presence in that location will sell plenty of burgers, and the thought of having to deliver a tasty product probably just never crossed their mind.
Unfortunate - but the schwarmas kick ass anyway.

My expat buds seem to like Duke's in the Emporium. Haven't eaten there myself though. I don't get to stay in LOS long enough to get sick of Thai food. Don't want no Russian hookers either !

... update on Nana Burger... unsure what the orginal owner status was, as there seems some recent changes in ownership from a woman to a guy, after which the reviews on Nana Burger went decidedly downhill... Nana Burger is again being operated by an older woman.
... knocked one down over the weekend at about 2:00AM... it is a great little gut-buster, and will never be greater than that... it is what it is... at that hour, she had a pretty steady 3-5 burgers on the grill, so appears to be doing well.
... for those who do not frequent BKK, Nana Burger gets attention on this thread simply as a quirky burger joint that captures our attention only because of a commanding location at the mouth of Nana Entertainment Plaza... it is strictly an emotional, impulse buy.
... as proper burgers go, conventional restaurants written about elsewhere in the forum are really the destination restaurants to which patrons make purposeful trips to get a serious, sober burger fix.
... still, Nana Burger continues to fill a very select niche... patrons who are drunk, but aware enough to recognize the value of a tasty and all-natural grease plug to encourage a good bowel movement the next morning... and, gents, success!... I was slick-shitting like a goose the next morning!
