The best for the budget in Patong for me was Dang on Bangla (I think).
My best in Bangkok was the dinner cruise on the river. I believe it was called the Manhora and was out of the Marriott. It was more being out on the water and the views than the food although the food was pretty good too.
The worst was some burger that I had in some place on Phi Phi. It was definately not from a cow.

I went to this superb Italian restaurant the other night with a friend and his wife.
Lots of booze, great atmosphere, very small portions, in fact I don't remember the food, but the waitresses were excellent.
Funny, never knew he married an NEP girl???
