RTB, yes afaik in this case both names are correct: sirocco and scirocco. I think the different spelling has to do with the region where they call it (write it) : Italy, Albania, Croatia, etc. Caronte should know a bit more about this. Maybe they misspelled the restaurant name here, but still got it right by pure luck. As for your plaloma, if they meant dove (the bird not he soap) in Spanish, yes it should have been paloma.

Right but everyone calls it Sirroco. Actually my Family (Mother side) is from North Africa. Sirroco is a real good feeling but sometimes carries dust that would put a nice red thin cover on the street from Monaco to Cannes. Cheers,

What about the 'freemantle Doctor' thats a famous wind, which should not be confused with the 'Finix' which is a bag of wind.

Mmm...Scirocco or Sirocco.....we are talking about the same subject, ie. a hot wind that blows from Northern Africa, carryin the heat of the Mediterranean Sea and heading to the costs of Italy and France and concerns only these two Countries, thus the double version, Scirocco (Italian) and Sirocco (France).... Just to be the smartass: the name Scirocco is from the Arab name SURUQ (East) that the Sicilian folks adapted into the first version SCEROCCO (when Sicily was under the Arabs) and later on, during the Renassance, it was changed into Scirocco.....so, first is Arab, then Italian and finally French....

At least for sure we established that the restaurant was not named after a car. BTW, not only the French and the Italians have it. So do the Croatians who call it "jugo." Jin jin
