Must support Yurune on his comments re Rang Mahal,, was there for dinner with wife and parents early January,, Atmosphere excellent, decor GREAT, views lovely,, food fantastic and price more than reasonable at approx. 1,400 BHT a head including drinks.
Live entertainment was an added bonus ( although Indian music in general sux).
All up I would give it an 8.5.

I'm with Scobie on this one. The place on Soi 11, something like Bawari is very good. Great Tandori and curries. Very clean, good service reasonable price. Bukara on Suk soi 7 is also very good and a more traditional ambience. However, I would give the edge on tast to Bawari Soi 11 close to Ambassador hotel. Was there late March so this should be a pretty current assessment.

Actually....I'm wondering if Scobie was referring to Mr's Balbir's...down on the right hand side of soi 11/1.
I've started eating there as a cheap alternative to the Rang Mahal...ther Lamb Vindaloo is just awesome.

I see that Himali Cha Cha has now reopened in soi 31....about 150m in right hand side.
Might try it again, just for the cheese naan and to compare with Mrs Balbir's awesome Lamb Vindaloo.

Went to Rang Mahal and it was fabulous. The service was as nice as the food. Had the lunch set menu plus the curry prawn and both were really terrific. The views were also very nice. Thanks for the referral.

About 100 meters or so in from Sukumvit on the right is the place I mentioned before, Bawarchi. Not cheap but really good. Just went again week before last and ended up there twice. Best I have had.
