Restaurant offers B1m meal

A dining out destination for international high flyers will take a step up when a galaxy of star chefs alight at The Dome.
An exclusive restaurant in Bangkok will soon be taking bookings for a special dinner for 40 guests, each of whom will pay a million baht for the pleasure and the privilege.
Why? And how can a meal possibly be worth a million baht?
"It's more than just an expensive dinner," said Deepak Ohri, managing director of Challenge Hospitality, the company that owns and manages the luxury Lebua Hotel and the restaurant Mezzaluna, which is organising the dinner.
"It will be a unique experience, a memory to treasure. And only in Bangkok will you find it," he said.
The gala dinner will be part of a five-day gastronomic festival entitled 'Epicurean Masters of the World', which will be held between Nov 28 and Dec 2.
It follows the success of the first event held last year.
"There are eight of the greatest chefs in the world taking part, all of whom have been awarded three Michelin stars, the highest culinary accolade there is. Five of them are collaborating on this final flourish to the festival, each presenting one course for the 40 guests at Mezzaluna," he said.
All the chefs are international celebrities in their own right, and have carte blanche to demand no-expenses spared ingredients to prepare the meal.
If scallops from a specific bay on New Zealand's South Island are called for, they will be flown in fresh on the day.
Bottles of expensive wine have been selected to accompany the chefs' creations.
And the personalised designer gifts presented to the guests will be of commensurate quality - a set of wine glasses; jewellery from Tiffany engraved with the guest's name, and a specially-designed commemorative dish from Limoges, signed by the master chefs before being fired in the kiln.
From the airport or their residences in Thailand, limousines will speed the guests to their luxury suites at Lebua for a pre- and post-prandial stay.
"We want this to be a million-baht memory for them, a time in their lives that they'll never forget," said Mr Deepak. "And Bangkok will be where it happened."

No, f*** the lot of c***'s that partake of that night. Hope they get bad oyster's. I say everyone should have the right to 3 square meal's a day.
Young and old, rich and poor, should be able to sit down at the same table and eat the same food. I know the poor people would sit down at the table, but the rich capitalist's would not entertain the idea.
Is anybody suggesting or saying that people who are capitalist's/extremely wealthy are a different breed of people and they deserve to eat at extravagent diner'ies.
Baskoy, you may see them eat, but would it constitute a sufficient meal. Eating a bowl of rice with 6 grasshopper's in it, would not be sufficient for an adult and they may only receive that once or twice a day.
Josh, benefit's to who, not the poor people, only the rich c***'s who would rather tread on them than walk around them.
L/N, I will happily supply a razor blade for yourself to have fun with the wrist's, and cut down the forearm..not across it.
