Neil's Tavern has IMHO the best steaks in Bangkok, though the price is possibly above B1000 now

only for the steak ..without including any other cost? go to madison at the regent hotel. but add all other things (appetizer, drinks, etc.) and you will pay much more.
for neil tavern's...there are two locations..the one i know is in soi ruamrudee (just paralell to wittayu).

I cast my vote for the New York Steakhouse at the JW Marriott. It was also voted the best steakhouse in Thailand for year 2002. Also, the selection of waitresses are first class, too bad they are not on the menu for desert.
I do not think the price is below 1,000 THB, it depends if you want USA or AU beef. Also, reservations are a must. There is limited seating and this place is booked, especially on weekends, you can not get in easily even if you a guest of the hotel, but with reservations its no problem. This has probably changed with the SARs now, but was the case before.
