Men,
A little help needed, working on booking my first BKK / Phuket trip for end of August and looking for a great 4* or 5* hotel in Patong that is close to the center of the action and is guest friendly. Any suggestions? Any weight lifters out there? I also could use a good gym with free weights in the hotel or close by for straight guys.
One more question - I have been reading up on all the best beer bars to pick up beautiful woman - any one or two that stand out as not to pushy with more than their share of great looking woman?

I stayed at Le Meridien last weekend, taking advantage of their special SARS pricing (Baht 3,500 for a double, sea view - pay one night get one free). Guest friendly if you've booked a double otherwise a joiner fee will be charged.
Nice hotel, with gym, although the location is just out of Patong so you need transport to get in to the heart of the action.
The Patong bars were quiet last weekend and I didn't see anything of interest. Ended up in Phuket Town at Pink Chamois which had a very good selection of cuties.

If you can afford it, the very best hotel in Phuket is Amanpuri... not for a case it costs about 600/1200 usd per night in this season...
If I had enough money I would sleep there at least once, but I never did...
As for Le Meridien you need at least a motorbike to get to action places.
Meridien is about 5 minutes from action, Amanpuri about 20.

check http://www.latestays.com for some good deals on comfort oriented hotels....As to the GYM at the Holiday in I've been in there and there were plenty of Pufters in there! My hotel has there own workout area!

If you really want to push the boat out then there are some stunning private villas for rent in Phuket. Spectacular views, private pool, jacuzzi, gym etc. Be prepared to pay up to $4,000 per night for the experience.

Try Thara-Patong. They have a little gym (a universal and some dumbbells) extremely guest friendly, close to action and if you get pool terrrace your patio is the pool!!!

you can get a pool side 2 bedroom apt with liv/kit that is simply deluxe...Shite..I pay 3520 for the smallest poolside low season....Slip into the pool for a late night skinny/boom session...very romantic and great place to get into the mood for Boom Boom Boom! Beautiful property!
