First problem of the trip was at Heathrow.
Checked in with Malaysia Airlines and was told my case was 12 kilo's overweight and argued for what seemed like hours.

the day had been a disappointment really.

Excess baggage really is a sh*t. I've never been charged, despite on one flight being 45kg overweight (two people), and my carry on bagge was over 30kg. It was a struggle to walk away from the counter and pretend it was light. (It was choc full of diving weights).
They just seem to charge it as and when they feel, there is no consistancy, as a result I always travel heavy and I'm sure one day I'll get stung.
The cost is huge though, my friend flew BA to London on Sunday and took some stuff for me. He phoned BA and asked the excess baggage charge and it was 1000B a kilo.
He got on fine with his luggage and about 15kg extra for me.
