I was riding along on my motorbike in Phuket the other day and I was overtaken by a pick-up and in the back were four men all wearing balaclavas! Now, I ask you, who wears big, thick balaclavas in Phuket during the hottest time of the year? These guys HAD to be terrorists - what else could they be?
Also, they were holding down a tarpaulin that appeared to be covering several large boxes. I am fairly sure that the boxes contained either high-explosives or possibly guns, one or the other. Why else would they need four guys to cover them up?
One of the men looked at me and it was a look that said, "Watch yourself, pal." I was very scared and so I sped off in front of the pick-up, hoping they would not follow me. Now I realise I should have taken down the license number of the pick-up and given it to the police. I am really kicking myself for being so stupid.
So I would like to warn all the brothers who are in Phuket, or thinking or coming to Phuket - please be careful because something big is going to go down. I thought it may happened during Songkran but then, everything would have gotten wet so that explains why.

All over thailand strangely the case is they can cop the heat ok wearing balaclavas, that amazed me too at times. I take no offence if it is a send up of the situation we encounted on a beach last month. Again its aways best to be aware that a spoken tonque in muslim on a pattaya beach, referring to a popular night spot, was worth mentioning. The girl I was with reacted strongly, and the authorities wanted to speak with them. The fact that each (at sunset) had a shirt removed and all wore a similar tatoo, convinced me that it was worth mentioning. especially in light of bali bombing and the theft of explosives and the outside chance it was the real deal. Sure I said, look "'pattayas safe, but for how long? I am buying there, and wont let it stop me. They might have been talking about go gos ? But the story stands. Increasingly westerners need to pass on info. I didnt say anything about terrorists, but suggest, that in the real world things can happen. Remember two days later a bomb did explode in southern thailand. So its all relevant. And sure go for it pal, take the piss, thats cool.

Look Whisper, just because you got called out earlier for inane criticism of other bros' well-intentioned concern for possible terrorist use of tons of stolen fertilizer and other activities, doesn't justify a purposely misleading post on such a serious subject, IMHO.
It's not just that it's a sarcastic get-back - some, as you already see, take your sendup at face value, think it's serious, and thus it does great disservice to all the bros here.

hmmm, smart guy, real clever stuff. Mate its the 21st century, we all know sh_t can happen. If say a brother noticed something unusual, I dont mind hearing about it. Its not about the sky falling, its about risk mangement, and helping assess the climate we as westerners live in. Pattaya might continue to remain safe. But apathy and a mentality that says youll be bagged if you report it, means your contributing to the culture of silence. I felt this was a legitmate story. And remember arrests last year in bangkok (muslims with explosives) means its a real threat. The sea side town of pattaya is going to be my home. I am not threatened in any way, but I wont walk the streets with blinkers either. Say if a brother noticed a food cart peddaler outside a particular night spot all of a sudden, 3 nights running, but seemingly not selling stuff, or just looking and acting suspiciously, I wouldnt bag them for saying so. Maybe he had a reason? My point is this is reporting, not creating a climate of fear and/panic. In a very small way, sometimes caution is best.
