Night 2 continued…
I waited inside Tiger for about 15 minutes and by this point I was completely hammered. I had taken a liking to the Thai whisky and coke (I think they call it Sang Som or something like that) and cheap Heinekens. They both cost me 60 baht almost everywhere I went and stayed that way the entire trip. That is one of the beautiful things about the military absence from Phuket. You can count on consistency in prices. All my cigarettes were 60 Baht and all the Bar Fines were 300 or 200 Baht depending on the time of night. Plus all the tuk tuk and motorbike fares were the same throughout my stay. Anyways back to the story. I was fairly drunk and getting kind of tired. The music in Tiger was screaming and I felt like an idiot sitting on the stool looking around for this girl. Then all of sudden a girl I recognized grabbed my arm and asked where I had been. It was my lady’s friend and she led me to the back of the dance floor where I met up with Nosering (that’s what I call her).
Nosering seemed happy to see me but she too was a bit drunk. She pulled me to her and we danced together for a while. She was a freak on the dance floor doing all kinds of stripper type moves on me. I liked it but sometimes it was a bit much in my opinion. One thing I did like about this girl was she dressed really well and seemed to have a sense of style. However, I could tell she was a bit high maintenance which is a sign of trouble in my book. She had the tattoo, the nosering, the ankle bracelet, the rings, the hand bracelet, the necklace, etc… But I was having fun and she looked really good so I said what the hell and went with it.
Then guess who shows up. Freegirl shows up tugging on my arm, which pissed off Nosering. I blew off Freegirl knowing how crazy these girls can get when it comes to losing face and I didn't want a confrontation of any kind. Luckily nothing came of it.
I continued to dance with Nosering and then she goes to far. As we danced she tried to do a twirl and slipped, hit a table with her head, and knocked over a beer bottle, which broke on the floor. I was a bit embarrassed being associated with this drunken girl but instead of leaving like I should of I held her to me and consoled her head. I told her that I thought she had enough to drink. She said ok and suggested we go to the hotel room. I was ready to go by this point for it was nearly 3am I hadn’t really slept in 3 days. For anyone worried about closing times in Phuket, worry no more. There are many places you can drink and go dance after 2am. I was out several nights until 3 – 4 and even 5am one night.
We made our way back to the Valhalla. This place was god awful. It’s located next door to the Expat Hotel. If you ever wanted a visual representation of Skid Row, you could see it here on the Soi leading to these hotels. It’s a dark, dirty, gutted out, piece of crap alley you have to go down in order to make it to the hotel. When I paid for the room earlier that night I asked to see the room but I was so excited to bang this chick all I did was peek my head in the room and say ok, no problem. When we entered I found out the nasty truth. The room had the hot tub you see on the website and upon closer inspection it appeared filthy. There was no shower so if you wanted to wash yourself you have to use the tub (No thanks). The bathroom toilet in my room apparently wasn’t flushed from the previous user. It had a nasty rust stain that looked like a sh*t stain. When you flushed it the whole room moved. The TV only played fuzzy porn and the nightstand had a roll of toilet paper on it. The AC was as loud as an airplane and it was either freezing or not working at all. I looked outside my window and had a lovely view of a dirty looking pool. I wanted to slap myself for I had a 5 star hotel in Karon and I was staying in this hell hole. What a waste… 
I could tell the girl was fairly disappointed in the room, especially since she found the surprise leftover in the toilet. She pretty much passed out on the bed and told me that she wanted to wait until morning to have boom boom. I was fairly drunk myself so I didn’t argue and went to sleep. I woke up frozen by the AC at around 7am. I was greasy from the night before and had cotton mouth from all the smoking.  I wanted to get the hell out of there so I washed my face, woke her up, and let her know that I wanted to have the boom boom then. It was quick and completely not worth my time. We got our stuff and made our way to the front desk to find the clerk asleep on the floor. The man who was working the desk looked like a street bum. I checked out and sent her on a motorbike to wherever she needed to go. I felt bad about the situation because it could have been a whole lot better, not to mention I wasted a lot of money. I lit up a cigarette, partly traumatized, and laughed to myself about the situation. I found myself a tuk tuk and high tailed it back to the Arcadia in order to decontaminate.

Nice description of the Valhalla. I know someone who did the same thing but he was a little less drunk and made the trek back to his other hotel in Kata or Karon, can't remember which. He cursed that place for a week.

Good FR. I'm going to Phuket at the end of September and I now know to avoid the Valhalla, thanks. Also, nosering girl reminds me of a girl I like to describe as diamond tooth who I met in Pattaya. A lot of fun on the town, but too drunk to f_ck afterwards.
My advice: if a girl looks that good, short time her immediately. If she's a mind blower, keep her. If she's not spectucular, at least you won't spend your whole night building up to a disappointment. Just MO.

I just love the Morning-2-Night bar in front of NEP for their selection of tunes, good stuff
I was a metal-head as a kid, and hated all other forms, but now I embrace Gothic, 70s/80s, Industrial, but still pretty much ignore pop...
Iggy Pop, Wendy O Williams, David Bowie, Lemmy Kilmister, Glenn Danzig, & Joey Ramone are some of my personal heroes, three of which I've actually met and had drinks with in HollyWeird
I was within a foot of Joey Ramone, but it was at CBGB's in NYC, madhouse !!
not even gonna start to name the 2nd level bands that I partied with in HollyWeid, like Exodus at Ricky Rachman's CatHouse etc...

You got me beat with punk celebrity near encounters. I'm a reformed skater punk but I still dig the music. 77 British punk, Misfits, Ramones too many good ones to name. Hip Hop before it got hijacked by West Coast criminals. I remember CBGBs (Omfug) too.
New York's the next best thing to BKK for me, but being from there, I prefer to see other places. Can't wait for Angkor and PP in September!
