Now this is a big one, been around in Thailand but never spent serious time at Phuket going there this September and want to know what I can expect round about Karon.....
Hmmm I know you will all flame me and say try a search but I guess Im trying to pick up and see what info I can glem. Hope that you understand where Im coming from with this one.
1/ Hotel spa massages - do these tend to offer any extras even in the likes of a hotel ? If so are they recommended and what are the prices ?
2/ Is Karon very girly girly or is more sedate.
3. how much to skip over to patong?
4/ what about airport to karon in taxi is this expensive ?

1. Most do - but 'massage places' are better value and better service.
2. Karon has its own girly bar places but they are not up to much. In general though it is a lot lot quieter than Patong.
3/4 Taxis in Phuket are very expensive compared to Bangkok. Bt150-200 to go from Karon to Patong. Bt650 or so to go to the airport.

Theres a small compund of girlie bars along karon beach road as you near the end of the long stretch (coming fm Patong). Nothing too exciting but turnover is always high so see what you can find. Closest disco to Karon is Safari if Im not mistaken but it only heats up after 2 am.
I would advise you to hit Tiger Disco on Soi Bangla, nightly after 11pm. The place is the most rocking whorefest I have sen in Phuket. More pussy than you can shake a dick at.
Then catch a tuk tuk (150-200b) or motobike (50-80b) back to Karon.
I will be putting together some torrid phuket FRs and will share them here for those interested.

You can expect some rain, monsoon is heavy this year. Be careful on the beach there, the rip tides can be wicked.
There are some definate "extras offered" massage places on the road leading to Kata beach that I've hit. You'll know what I mean when you get there. No idea about the big hotels.
Not so much beer bar action at that time of year, but there are at least 3 clusters with action that you'll find within walking or tuk-tuk (always 100 baht minimum) range.
A tuk-tuk to Patong will probably cost you 200 baht each way, or you can rent a motorbike/scooter for 150 baht a day. Just take the road slow and you'll be fine (then again I saw 2 seperate fatal accidents there last March, so....). *Always* carry your drivers lic with you if you do rent, as the Karon cops are setting up roadblocks to check every second day.
Taxi from airport to Patong is 550 booked at via most hotels, or 550 at the airport counter just past the baggage area. So it should be around 650 to Karon. Skip the bus or mini-cab, it's well worth the extra baht to go in your own air-conditioned car.
I was there last Sept, last March, and last month. September for me was hot as hell, but had a great time as tourist numbers were quite low. High season turns Phuket into "Farangland". Have a good time, & g'luck.

I agree with Boobies. Try and get a minibus at the airport. This year I payed 150 Baht one way. Be careful with the Tuktuks. Maybe you will pay 200 Baht to get to Patong but when you want to go back to your hotel the prices have gone up (depends on the time). Happened last year to me in Samui. Trip to the center of Lamai was 20 Baht but when I wanted to go back the price was 100 Baht. But if you want to support the lifestyle of the drivers family, go on.
When you decide to rent a motorbike, take care of the crazy Thais and their driving habits (drunk driving etc.). The police wasn´t lazy this year (july/august) and collected a lot of tea money from drivers without helmets or the wrong shirt (who knows).

Why is a 550baht limousine to phuket airport excessive?
The drive is a good 50 minutes at high speed.
The drive in bkk takes about 20-25 min and most people are happy to pay much more for the limousine.
Its worse to take the minibus because you have to wait till the guy drops off everyone else, making about 6 stops.
Not a good feeling when all you want is a bed a beer and a bimbo.

JW Marriot is very very far from Patong. It's a great place if you bring your family with kids or you simply just want to be alone. Not good for mongering action. If your main goal is to get laid there, then you should stay near or at Patong Beach. Many decent hotels there on Beach Rod or near by. I stayed at the TharaPatong last time and it was a great place especially the rooms with access to pool from the patio.

Thanks for the tip, however my firm regularly books its employees at the jw marriot so i'm stuck there. There has GOT to be a place where nearby I can score some action with one or two hot, tight ladies - again, pref with decent racks!???
