guys, two questions, does anybody know which is the best hotel to go to in phuket for prices between $20 tp $40 on the beach. ive looked it up on a website but i need some input. Second, ill be in bangkok on monday 2nd and will be staying at the park hotel. who will be out and where? id love to meet up. quick third question, what places are there to go where the girls are better looking than usual even though there are a little more expensive. A little taller, more models look alike. im probably asking too much. thanks

Hi, there are almost no hotels directly on the beach.
For backbacker budget You can find always room, but to get to the beach You have to walk quite long way (up on You, on swimsuit only or more dressed).
Nice hotel RIGHT ON THE BEACH is Karon Beach Resort (but does not fit into Your proposed budget).

While staying in Phuket I usually make my bookings through a booking agency at http://www.latestays.com, as they are having better rates than the hotels. But to be sure doublecheck, on their homepage is always a link to the homepages of the hotels.
During April this year I stayed at Rhuam Thep at the corner of Karon Beach just before the street goes up the hill to Marina Cottages. This hotel was at the beach, but as it is Thai owned they do not have a homepage. The same for the rates of course, you will have to bargain. I remember having paid Baht 1500 per night, but I stayed four nights.
The other option than having a hotel directly on the beach is to rent a motorbike, there are so many beautyful beaches on Phuket and I found it worth to check out a different beach everyday.

I will be spending a few weeks in Phuket next month and am looking for a hotel that offers broadband (high speed) internet access in the rooms, either via fixed ethernet connection or wi-fi. I plan on connecting my own laptop.
I realize that Internet cafes are an option, but I need internet access from 9 pm to 4 am, since I trade the U.S. stock market, and I know that most cafes will not be open 24 hours.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
