I booked this hotel because of the private jacuzzi feature & the very reasonable price, but I was a bit disappointed w/my overall experience w/the place.
The rooms at the Deevana Patong were nice & the private jacuzzi's were cool, but the place was more geared towards couples & families imho (mostly European or Australian). I didn't really see many punters walking around w/TG's at all there. The hotel staff also were sorta temperamental when I brought my girl in the 1st night there. Also, the location is less than ideal as it is a far walk from the action on Bangla, & even though it's only about a 1/4 mile walk to the beach area, trust me in the island sun & heat that can get very taxing. If I ever go back to Phuket again, I'll book a hotel in the middle of all the action on Bangla.
Another bad thing about this place is that hardly anyone here spoke much more than 10 words of English, so if you had any sort of question that fell outside the normal range they typically are asked, you're pretty much shit outta luck. I once asked the front desk clerk if I could use the phone to call the airport & he looked at me like I asked him to solve the world deficit. Another time I called housekeeping to see if my laundry was ready & they couldn't even understand that. I had to be switched to the hotel MGR who could relay my question back to the staff.
I ended up shortening my stay in Phuket to 2 nights instead of the originally booked 4 nights, partly due to my experience w/this hotel. (The other part was due to the fact that my skin couldn't take much more of the island sun & that I wanted to get back to BKK sooner rather than later.) Overall, I don't think I'd recommend this place to anyone here who's looking for some wild fun in Patong Beach. It's more for families. Even then, if I had a family or a GF, I'd probably stay at a nicer & bigger resort like the Andaman that was closer to the beach. For young single guys, I think it's better to stay closer to the action rather than taking those tuk tuks around everyday & getting charged 100bht each time.

I'm sorry to hear that my recommendation did not reach your satisfaction level.
Agreed, it is some walk from the action but I thought it to be a nice place. Usually I take a 20 bath motobike taxi to drop me fresh from the airy ride in Bangla.
Myself, I have'nt experienced poor english staff through my numerous visits. I guess you must have been unlucky, but a two days stay can't judge enough in my opinion. It is true that the resort is family oriented which Club Andaman is as well. Maybe Patong Villa might suits you better since that is right in the heart of action and nobody cares of any joiner.
How's Tai Pan ? Can't hardly wait to be in paradise again next may 1.

No, they don't charge a joiner fee as long as you book for double occupancy. I could tell my BG took a liking to the place cuz she kept looking outside my room to the pool outside, & she took a business card with her before she saw me off. A deluxe room in the Spa Wing w/private jacuzzi cost me $62 US/day (incl. breakfast & taxes, etc.). Pretty reasonable, for what you get in terms of accomodations.
Asianatic, I appreciated your reco. It just wasn't for me, but I had no real problem about my accomodations other than the location. I'll try the Patong Villa next time if I'm in town. Thanks again.
