Well i can't help u much about the accommodation but as far as ice and peeled fruit go, i've never had a problem. When i first moved to Asia 7 years ago i was told not to eat lettuce, watermelon, ice, or basically anything that wasn't in a bottle with an imported sticker in it, in my opinion thats crap. Unless u have a very low immune system and ure prown to disease, a bit of ice and fruit wont hurt ya. You'll probably get the shits, thats just what happens to many people on their first few trips to asia, its all the good food Oh and street vendors... not the most hygenic way to eat your meat (i'd rather have a TG do that anyway ehh) but i've eaten kebabs and chicken wings and the such from them before and never got sick yet. Have a great trip, i'm jealous! i have to wait till december 14th before i'll be in phuket!

never use ice,eat the melon and pineapple in the little plastic bags and no problems. heard a rule of thumb about ice,if it is crushed ice, beware but if comes in nice cubed form go for it. i read that crushed ice comes in a block which is often just dragged around the streets or out in the back of a truck and deliverd to the bar in that form and then chipped off and put in cold containers. i have seen blocks of ice being pulled along the streets in this manner. when i left my Hotel each day i would pass an ice processing place and they would be making the ice into cubes and then making up small sealed plastic bags and delivering them to the bars. don't know how much truth in this matter. some of the best snacks i have had have been from the street vendors and i loved them. never had any bad food or stomach problems. when you are there in Dec,try the vendors next to 7-11,they are great.

Here is my #1 advice.. donít buy anything to bring to Thailand, whatever it is you want you can get in Thailand and probably at a cheaper price, as mentioned by Nokna, BOOTS is a store very much like Eckerd Drugs, they have everything and then some... Sometimes you can bang the cute Thai girls working there!! I will be there starting about the 6th or 7th through the 20th, e-mail me at pbd714@hotmail.com and we can discuss further communication. The Tropica is a cool place and right next to the action, the problem is the joining fee, they will charge it. You can try to check in and say my girlfriend will show up later, but that may not work there. I use the Tony Resort about 300 feet away from Cristin Massage, they accept that my girlfriend will come later and I will also change girlfriends every night!! I used to stay at the Tropica on every visit, but got tired of the charges and sometimes the mosquitoes can bothersome. For all your other questions and comments I think you have been given great advice. Adios, PBD714

Hey guys, I just wanted to say thanks for all the great advice. I really appreciate the forums. I'll be traveling with Loknar to Phuket on the 10th. We can't wait. BTW any dive shops you all like? I plan to get open water certified while I'm there. Bummer about the Tropica bungalows too, I specifically asked them about the joiner and they swore there wasn't one. Glad you guys let us know. Anyone stayed at the Kata Minta? Its right on the beach which is cool but it could be a hole... If anybody is going to be there when we are we'd like to hook up buy you a beer and say hi. Then it will be back to the BG's for us! Again thanks to everyone for the help and the great advice. We'll be sure to post our exploits on return and help the next crew.

In my opinion, if its On Phuket, its heaven, as long as there's a bed and an aircon I guess there are most likely some pretty dirty holes there, but who goes to Phuket to look at the room, i think the schedule of most travellers to phuket are the same. Eat, screw, sleep, screw, swim, screw, relax and screw some more uh yeah im mumbling, damn rum and cola, just missing LOS madly, less than 2 months left yay!

swim?,what's that?. surely that means less time for screwing?. further to what pbd714 said about buying things in Patong. i never take toiletries when i go. i always buy everything i need there in OP. i normally get the 1st Girl and then let her choose the shower gel, shampoo, deodorant etc. i found a good way to impress the girls when i was there,i bought the spray deodorants and whenever i put it on they would smile and have a little sniff. i smelt a lot better than the normal falang smell in their eyes. my #1 girl liked to spray herself as well and i would always buy her a selection of deodorants when i left.

Ice is no problem ... at least I haven't had any problems ... and I like my drinks with ice (GT/Mekong-soda) ... I drink a lot of fruit shakes (deng mo pan = watermelon shake, gluway pan=banana-shake) ... eat out on the streets ... no reason whatsoever to get paranoÔd ... For diving try "Calypso" .. they're located in Karon beach ... fantastic trip ... 3 dives a day ... great boat ... good staff ... perfect food (even got pancakes on the way back) ... The boat was a lot better then what I'm "used to" in Egypt ... but the diving wasn't ... oh well it was good ... good coral / lots of fish ... even saw a turtle ... I payed 2800 THB for the day ... that was through my travelagent so you can get it a lot cheaper I guess ... Karon beach is great for relaxing ... beautiful beach with great waves ... very quiet though (I went late October) ... I also rented a motocyc (motorbike) and drove around the island for two days ... a great way of seeing lots of things ... the most southern tip of the island is great ... it's got a really nice viewpoint and you can walk down all the way to the water (mainly cliffs there) ... also went to see the Bang Pae waterfall ... fantastic swim there ... beautiful forest ... some elephants there at the beginning of the road ... Also if you like partying then go to Safari disco ... it's almost completely an open-air disco ... big fun ... 100 baht to get there by tuktuk and 150 to get back ...

"How much "new" knowledge do you have for us Nokia?" this is so boring, how many times have i said i have exhausted my "new" knowledge and i just post for the sake of posting?. just read the Forum and maybe you will learn. but there was something i said that i had never said before,so it was "new" knowledge. which bit of "new" knowledge did you miss?,want a clue?. but again you cannot bother to research things. i love your posts about me and i thank you for taking the time to read them just so you can find fault. i used to admire people like Elizabeth 1,Winston Churchill and JFK. but they have fallen by the wayside and you are now my ultimate hero. f_ck me you have even overtaken Smegma and Yurune and that takes a lot of effort. "Krypto (the elephant killer) has spoken!" like to tell me/us more?.
