Agree with JJ & Turkish...
Banana is a bit of a hike round the corner and a few times I've made the effort at 1am, it's been quite a sad place. Dregs.
Tiger can be hit & miss - been there on 1 night & seen masses of talent, and then again on other nights been quite ropey
Don't frequent Tai-Pan myself, but have friends who swear by the place - they normally head off there about midnight, never to be seen again......

Just let me dream about the 'previous' Tai Pan. When it just replaced the 'Firehouse' agogo. This was the place to be between 1AM and 7AM. And rocking........ The present version is not the preferable one for me..... Anyway, hope you guys enjoy it though. I will hop in for a drink so once in a while, for nostalgic reasons.

Does anybody of you know when these places closes at night ? Some says ALL of the nightlife in Patong shuts down at 2 a clock, while others say Tai Pan, Tiger etc. stays open to 4-5 a clock !
Make me miss the old days down there when you could sit with a nice freelancer in Vienna Bar, while the sun came up, then walk over to the nearby Thai resturant that never closed for a meal and then home for boom-boom !!

Officially all bars are closing down at 02.00 AM. Some, like Star World and Tai Pan, remain open until 02.30 AM. Restaurants are able to stay open, Soi San Sabai has several of those restaurants were you can enjoy a few more drinks after 02.00 AM, sometimes until 06.00 AM or even later. Things can change fast and can be different from day to day. Always some places are open, talk with the incrowd, they will show you the way. At present I am already 2 months (?) or even longer in BKK. Soon back home on Phuket and can give the latest info....

The Kangaroo Bar on Bangla Rd seems to have a high success rate in staying open after 2am - and is busy as a result! Sometimes open as late as 3:30 or 4:00.

Sand Inn opposite Star World used to stay open and serve drinks after 2am as long as you had a meal.
Odd from Kangaroo Bar is a good guy and has just about perfected the art of making the punters happy.
but never my kind of place after dark.
but I had fun with him and the 3 girls (if they are still around) behind the bar during the day.
had a S/T with one of them once after she finished work......
the Irish Bar on Sansabai, forget the name (1/2 way down on the right) used to stay open late with the shutters being closed and Thai youngsters paid to keep a look out for the Police.
but normally i'm ready for bed at 2am and have had enough for the night.
i'm ready for another kind of juice swallowing by then.....

He...he.....that`s something I always regret after my escapades in LOS....to much drinking...to little s........!
This time next week I will be there and try to make some changes....a nice girl early in the evening for ST.....instead of a questionable freelancer at 5 in the morning staying with me LT (week or so)....LOL !!!!
