Having just got back 2 weeks ago I can say that October was lite. Much better than August and June but about the same as Songkran '03 for Non Thai tourists.
Now I check with my hotel and the reservation for Dec are up over last year. But things are much better than for the same months as '02. No question. The worst time was Nov and Dec of '01, Patong was really empty.
Generally speaking things are getting better. Good for them, as many of the Darlings went home.
I'll certainly get on the ole lap top upon arrival (very soon)....I will dedicate the report to Ozzoid from the guywhodoesn'twork, or what ever slanderous moniker he tried to hang on me!

There was a bunch of us out last night. we discussed you and your thread. Everybody agreed it should have been deleted, one guy had even complained about it.

Obivoisly the comment about muslims is false, since I made it clear on my post that was deleted that I have lunch with a muslem person, do business with a muslim laudnry lady and still Boom a Muslim Girl.
