Despite what some whoremongers may believe, most tourists do not go to Thailand to f*** their brains out. I repeat, they do NOT travel to Thailand just to f***. Me thinks that the percentage of folks like us who were directly impacted by this naturally occuring event is rather small. Average Thais and average tourists took the brunt of this (among those in LOS).
They and their families have my sympathy.

if anyone knows of the meridian hotel in patong the sea is up to there now.sky news reporter says.phuket airport closed.im very worried about the resorts like phi phi and krabi.they would have been hit hard.

I only got home at 7 - 7:30 am this morning.. then only 2 hours later all my thai nieghbors are panicking like f***.. I got up and heard the story..
At this point I was really dieing (12 hourws drinking followed by 2 hours sleep) so I figured if I was gonna die I would die in bed with airco.. Went back to sleep..

got a call right now from a friend in patong.
Phi phi island don't exist anymore... just 2 hotel stand up..at the moment.
Wake up with water in his room this morning
he saw about 6 people dead on the beach road, a speed boat in Saynamyen road !!.
patong is devasted
Patong waiting now for the biggest wave...around 5 pm ( thai time)
Sorry and worried for all the BM who are there right now.
I guess I will canceled my trip in Patong in january.
They need alot of time to clean up and re-built the place
