The bottom bar is open and is not for sale or lease. I spoke to Big Bill tonight and told him what I read on this website and he assured me the rumours of the Rock Hard closing is pure BullShit. The one and only and the original owner just got back to town tonight after a brief trip. He's been in town almost all month and I'll be speaking and drinking with him tomorrow. He used to be my next door neighbor and we've done a LOT of partying together. It never ceases to amaze me how much tourists think they know about a place they visit on holiday !!! I've been in Thailand 16 years now and in Patong for the last 11 of them.

hope it's not me who has been bad in my postings?.i've only commented on what others have said and what i saw on their website.
after all it's 7 months since i was last there.
i presumed downstairs was open as i had seen nothing to the contary posted anywhere.
i may be a tourist,but have always said i am no expert.
but SJR was my favourite place.
2 of my favourite girls worked there.
downstairs to me was too busy,too loud and not so intimate.

No outburst on my part was intended. My hope was to clarify a bit of misinformation which at times runs rampant. After having spent a fair bit of time here in Patong it becomes obvious that there are numerous holiday makers who love to name drop in order to justify their need to feel "in the know" when in fact this entire town thrives on rumours. Most of which have no truth in fact. I find it particularly humorous when someone says "a bargirl told me" as if that as if THAT would be the final word !!! I know this sounds very callous but when it comes to "most" BGs as a source of information, I figure they are masters of deceipt and duplicity and if their mouth is open, they are lieing !!! In other words, I view most of them as guilty until proven innocent !!! By no means does this comment apply to all of them. There are exceptions and I do empathize with their situation. They are largely defensive by nature due to the hard life they've had and all the false promises they been dealt. It just takes a while to cut through their BS and some take a very long while.
So, my apologies if a came off as abrasive. I'll now step down from my podium !!!

i still get info from some of the girls i keep in touch with,but it's the normal bland stuff.
they tell me that so and so has gone home or much rain today etc.
but i first heard of Pink Panther being closed for a month from a girl who did'nt work there,but knew i frequented the place.
most of the news i get is from ex-pats living there.
and i find it sad to say i must agree with SiamKid about the girls in general.
i would'nt say they deliberately lie,but 'little untruths' are very common and i almost always take many things they tell me when i'm with them with a pinch of salt.
i can understand why they do it,but i find it very sad i think this way.
