Inspite of the comments i made i did find some nice women but my poiint overall is that the selection is not as good or as large and the cost is greater.
Yes you can have a good time in Phuket and find a nice lady but you would be surprised i think if you saw what was on offer elsewhere in Thailand.

as i say we all have opinions and i respect yours.
i have seen girls in Phuket ranging from 1-10 and also the same in BKK and i am sure the same can be said about places all over Thailand.
i don't know about the quantity on Phuket compared to other places because i have not been anywhere else,but i do know there are a lot of girls on Phuket.
i keep reading and hearing about Phuket being more expensive and again i don't know but i find Phuket cheap compared to BKK.
i found the food,drinks and girls were were more expensive in BKK,but i may have just struck it unlucky.
the BF has only been discussed with 3 girls in BKK and 2 wanted 3000 and the other 4000 L/T.
ok,in Patong i once arranged a 3some with 2 girls with all the f_cking,sucking,lesbian and anything else i wanted and they wanted 5000 each.
i said no and finally got them down to 3000 each which was still too much,but i was a newbie and we were talking about 16 hours together.
but things never worked out and the event never happened.
i find most girls ask for 1000 L/T which seems the norm,but i'm one of the people you all hate.
i pay more and maybe because of it,the girls try it on and ask for more.
a lot of us have our favourite P4P playground,favourite bar,favourite girl,favourite drink and favourite food.
i just get a little downhearted when i see some things said about Phuket on various Forums.
Phuket this,Phuket that and many are negative and i know it has put 2 people off from going.
i have 2 friends who are avid readers of this Forum,but have never joined or posted.
they have visited LOS more times than me,but never Phuket.
this is because they read it is not a good place to go.
they read it is expensive,they will get ripped off etc.
i try to explain to them about Phuket and to try it at least once,but they will not.
they may be blinkered and a bit stupid(IMHO),but it's their right to do what they want.
who knows what might have happened if my 1st experience of LOS had been Pattaya?.
i might have been praising the virtues of that town for the last 18 months instead of Phuket.
but as i said in my previous post,we all have opinions and while others may not agree,that is what makes the world turn around.
if everyone thought the same what a boring thing that would be.
anyway the important thing is is that you found good women and had a good time.
maybe one day i will be lucky enough to sample the delights of BKK or Pattaya and see if it is true what i hear about the respective places.
but will i be able to tear myself away from my beloved Patong Beach and my friends(many not in the business)and drag myself to a strange place and start all over again?.

NOKNA MAKES A VERY GOOD POINT.... his last issue is to do with a home like atmosphere. I for one like the homeishness of Patong. I find BKK too big and Pattaya too dirty etc...I just made another hotel res and closed with "retuning to my Patong home". Shite, I've even had my ways with a couple hotel darlings.....Very warm and very Personal. Patong has a charm that that cannot exsist in the other party zones. With all things having a flip side it does get a bit tight socially. Even though I generally on the SLT (super-long-time aka multiple days) mode so many visits and so many girls.....With April quiet June empty and August very slow it was a break by missing out on seeing some old trollops of previous tours! Looking forward to October and seen some of the old riding stock who are expected to return for the high season....a long visit and avoiding some get togethers heard to be in November.
For those lurking from another board. I have resolved myself to keep on the beach side of Soi Eric, forever.

I must say having lived in BKK and HKT, my best times with the girls were in HKT.
Having said that I far prefer living in BKK and don't even bother visiting my friends there any more. I wait for them to come to the big town.

My favorite soi in Patong is Soi Eric - simply because it was more laid back and chill. ÝThe music wasn't an issue - at a reasonable level which allowed you to hold conversations with out having to yell constantly. The girls looked nice (not all but many) and pampered me at just about every bar I visited there. Personally, I have never had a problem spotting beautiful women in Phuket. Ý

As for Pattaya - Never been - partly due to time and money and the other is I think I would have a better time in Phuket. ÝI like having the island aspect involved in my trips to Thailand. ÝPhuket provides the island atmosphere blending it with good drink and good women. ÝI kind of have this negative vision of Pattaya implanted in my mind (overcrowded dirty streets, where you can't walk 10 feet without being pressed to pay for ladies, and polluted bacterial waters). ÝOfcourse I would go to Pattaya if given the opportunity but I think Phuket would always be my first choice if I had to choose between the two.

this is what i was saying earlier.
we all have our opinions and favourite places.
The Machine has had good times while visiting Phuket,but prefers other places.
i have had limited(but good)experiences in BKK,but prefer Phuket.
HJ and dagul say they prefer Phuket and dagul says he has never visited Pattaya because of reports he has heard.
he is no different to my friends who are of the opposite view and will not visit Phuket because of what they have heard.
do not criticise him for that TM.
he has made a decision,like me to prefer Phuket ahead of Pattaya.
but like me he has never visited Pattaya and knows what he likes and prefers to go back again.
i am the same as some other people.
i go to Phuket because of negative reports i hear of other places.
after my 2nd visit to LOS i thought about visiting Pattaya,but decided against it.
i was going back to see a BG i had met before,but the main reason i never went was because of things said on various Forums.
lets hope we can all respect each others choices of where to visit.

I'll attempt to use an analogy. ÝYou are in a restaurant and you know that the prime rib is terrific (you've had it before and you know you'll be satisfied). ÝThen you see something on the menu you've never tried before but don't know if you want to give up the prime rib and take the risk of not getting the satisfaction you desire. ÝSooo.... I go with Phuket because I know that I'll get that satisfaction I want and decline Pattaya because I'm not sure. ÝIts a big decision when your dealing with a limited amount of time and a budget. Ý
Machine - I never said I "knew" I said I "think" I would have a better time in Phuket due to what I've heard. Plus the polluted water sucks - I think we both "know" that.
Not trying to knock your beloved spot, it may very well be the shiznick - I just go with what I know works.
With respect to Machine:
Positive things I have heard about Pattaya
- countless countless women everywhere (more than PK)
- cheap cheap cheap - hotel, girl and drink (compared to PK)

Went to Soi Sea Pearl for a nooner H Jimmy recomendation had to many beers turned out she had ackne ,threw her out resolved to do better at night,went to Soi Eric had to many beers again turned out she was 38 three times my age,trying to stay sober today,no luck getting a threesome still trying to get one decent looking
