Ningning, the Burasari is not girl friendly. However if you're bringing your own Thai girl, by all means stay there. I stayed there with a Bangkok cutie two years ago, and was really impressed with the Burasari. You won't be disappointed!
petcs, I'm also thinking of staying at the Burasari. When you say it's "not girl friendly", do you mean they don't allow you to bring the girls back to your room, or that they charge you a fee for having a guest? Sorry, just checking.

Drunken Tiger - He means they charge a fee - most hotels are unlikely to ever actually stop you bringing a "guest" back but the "guest charge" can be in the thousands of baht and some hotel staff at the non-friendly establishments will go out of their way to be unpleasant to you and your "guest", who in my case is also my wife. Therefore I seldom stay at non-guest friendly establishments.

Anyone got any recommendations on a nice 4 star or 5 star in Patong Beach that's GF & close to where all the action is? What area should I be looking at in Patong Beach to be close to the action?

Four or five star and girl friendly is a difficult find in Phuket. Marriot is definetly GF however, too far from Bangla Rd. to be considered. I have always stayed at the Amari Coral Beach Resort. Killer location on the beach about five minute tuk tuk ride from Bangla. The key is to make reservation for 2 adults when booking.
I have stayed there the past seven years, except last when closed due to tsunami. Only hassled one time by overzealous guard. I handed him five hundred baht. He helped girl from tuk tuk next night. :-) A friend just returned from stay at Amari and said no problem if you stay low key. I will be there in two weeks. I will keep everyone up to date. I pay $140 US per night. I know, I know, above most mongers budget. But, hell, same would cost 4 or 5 times that in Hawaii and no Bangla.
I sometimes ST near Bangla for early shot then bring LT back to hotel. No problem with TGF. If you are on baht budget not the place for you. Want to style it an got gold card, you are there.

FIVE HUNDRED BAHT ??? ----No wonder he helped the girl from Tuk-Tuk, those guys probably earn about 30 baht an hour.

I just rolled into Patong yesterday and there were plenty of rooms about: I'm at PS Hotel, next to C&N hotel on the second road from the beach. Everything is sound, seems a fine mid-rang girl-friendly place: B1000 per night for three nights.
