Unfortunately, you have no one to blame but yourself for this debacle.
Yes, Burasari has received raves from some quarters here but it was also qualified with the warning that lady companions are charged accordingly. I think you should have made the booking yourself and not left it to a travel agent you picked randomly in Sukhumvit, of all places. Who knows what deal they cut with the hotel, I think you might have fared better by just calling them direct, easier to negotiate that way.
Your bird sounds like a nightmare and I'm surprised you put up with a lot of her crap. I too have been guilty of carrying coals to newcastle and there's nothing worse than watching a hot babe go by in the knowledge that there's absolutely nothing you can do about it.

Thnx for the FR Gator, I think you've just provided a pretty good example of why you should not bring your own girl to Phuket - that would have seriously pissed me off, especially with all the other available girls to choose from.
As for the hotel, I would have found another, and told them to f_ck themselves...plenty of choice.
I would have got rid of the girl when Tom arrived, she def had her own agenda, and as for the 8 calls a day, this is a trait all T/G's appear to have!
With regards to the taxi, I was also suprised at how far Patong was from the airport, and even though I made my reservation before, the driver stopped at some travel agency, then a woman appeared asking if I had a reservation etc...i said I had, then she asked if I was going to Phi Phi & I said I didn't want to book anything as I needed to decide which dates...i don't know if this is a scam or what, but I like to research costs & acc by myself, and I don't like being ripped off.

Jholmes, I certainly don't blame anyone but myself on this particular account. Booking the Burasari as a single was clearly something I missed. I won't make that mistake again. As far as their rates go, the rates I got at the travel agency were better than those advertised on latestays.com so I didn't think that I did that bad, although it possibly could have been better.
The bird (as you refer to her), well, that whole thing about Tom and BKK Girl? I knew I had already made the committment to pay for most everything and I did promise her sister I would take care of her. I wanted to stick to my word, and I didn't want any issues about being hunted down, or my hotel room torn apart. I just wanted to make it back to Bangkok in one piece.
I knew we had seperate return flights and I could break off then. You occasionally hear those stories about people that just end up missing for a relatively small amount of money. I don't want to end up as the focus of one of those stories. I tread carefully while in Thailand.
The lesson I learned from this is that sometimes, it's better to just pay for it. I'll be sure to keep my relationships short and sweet next time while I'm there.
Addy, although yes, I'm sure I could have found several girls to hook up with while I was there, I was new to the Patong scene and couldn't quite figure out how it worked right away. This made me nervous about ending up going to Phi Phi by myself, and not having anything while I was there (as I understand, and from my observations, the p4p scene there is relatively non-existant). I had no idea things were going to turn out as they did. I may have had a better time by myself.
Back to the hotel thing; I did want to leave and find somewhere else. The unfortunate thing was that I already paid until the end of my stay at the Burasari and wasn't sure how much more of a hassle I would have had to go through to get my money back. Not to mention moving again to another hotel.
The taxi to travel agent thing seems to be a running gig then over there. But, I have to say that they did quote me lower rates for the Burasari than I got in Bangkok at the travel agent there, albeit only B200 less from the rate I was paying. I just couldn't wait until the day of to make my bookings. That too makes me nevous about not having availability at the place I want to stay. The important thing is to make sure that they confirm availability with the hotel while you are with them.
