Actually, yes it is.
Although it is not so much that I have a high perception of myself, it is more that I have an extremely low perception of everybody else – especially the aforementioned riff raff in Patong. In all fairness, who can blame me? Have you taken a good look at the average customer in Patong, SC and Nana? If you fail see that *most* (not all) of these people belong in the lower categories of society, then there is no need to continue this discussion. It is a simple fact.
Just because in your opinion you have the good fortune to be born higher up the evolutionary scale than them, does not qualify you to be the arbiter of what is considered to be good sartorial taste or to sneer at their behaviour.
And why is that? Laughing with other peoples (and my own) (latent) misery is the only joy a well-thinking human being can have in a world like this.
And if there is one class of people that deserves to be made fun of, it is the refuge in the likes of Patong. I am not downplaying their right to entertainment, I am merely fulminating against their appearance and behavior. Just like most Americans would do with say the behavior of rednecks and/or trailer trash. In general they are uneducated, lower class people. Its just like that.
It seems to me that they are the ones enjoying Sanook on their holidays, whilst you are having an awful time because you can't stand to be amongst them.
Not true. Although I would refrain from mingling with them, they entertain me quite a bit. But just not in a way that say an episode of Blackadder would entertain me.
So anybody that likes Patong must by definition be one of these Neanderthals too, eh? Well, I like it. But sometimes one comes across those superior snobby types and they get right up my nose.
Well there you go. I don’t like the “Neanderthals” (although I find that a too flattering description for these people), you don’t like people that don’t like Neanderthals. Fine with me, it is our differences that make us human.

Not true. I work and live here. I would NEVER take a 15hour plane trip with the sole purpose to f*** Asian girls for 2 weeks. Although I can understand why people do this, I would not. And I rarely pay to have sex in the wham-bam-thank-you-mam way that you have in mind. I am old fashioned.

In the days of the internet and mobile phones, the concept of gogo bars - where a bar acts as a middleman between a hooker and her client - seems to be rather old fashioned. I see gogo bars, and the likes of SC, Nana and Patpong, as anachronysms that will not be around in 5 years or so.

You may be right about this except that Issarn ladies are not likely to all be able to advertise on the net by themselves. But middlemen will do all that for them. So they can all become call girls if pics are available for punters to select and review sites are there for evaluations like in the US and UK.
So the bar/gogo becomes and anachronysm, true.
But maybe there will be a market for seeing in the flesh you goods before taking her out. It will be interesting to see what things are like in 5 years.
My guess is it will be pretty much the same unless the government cracks down and closes SC, Nana and Patpong. Who knows ??
