Too many options! 
South Sea looks good for location - away from Patong bussle but not boonies. I'll have to check on that ocean view. Looks like the trip to bangla for a little extra fun might be unpleasant though. The hotels claim ~10 mins which is ok for time.
I'll skip Kamala Bay Gardens this time, actually too much space, it'd feel dead unless I really hit it off with a bg for the weekend. It's got high marks for the agf trip though. thanks.
Any girl-friendly issues or joiner fees at these places? I'm strange, but I'd rather pay 2500 than 2300 + 200 fee.

I know you want a beach view,but this time of the year the beaches are sh_t and the weather is crap,lots of rain through the day though its still hot and humid.
Try the C+N hotel just around the corner from Bangla rd 800 bht get s you a v.i.p room.and you can walk to all the fun.
Back to the topic I`ve adjusted my arrival,now arriving 1 July.

OK, Girl Friendly/Sea View/Cheap/Clean/Walking Distance to Soi Bangla (not recommended to walk back late at night due to marauding LB's in dark alleys!) Nilly's Marina Inn about 800-1200 for a Sea View Room, ask for Sam! Not 5 Star but good for a guest house!

Paradise, Kata Beach Resort is excellant, great beach, great pool and right on the beach. Most rooms have sea view and you can specify it, get the deluxe and they all have seaview, stayed there a few weeks ago for 6 nights at 2000b per night, plus free dinner one night thrown in if longer than 3 nights I think. Also they give you 50% on breakfast and it is a good brekky.
Only problem is it is not very gal friendly, but if you book a double and be clear about it, you will get by, they will ask her details etc when arriving with her back to your hotel. If you meet the night manager, call him a fat little c_nt for me and he will remember me clearly. They may also take the lion statues at the entrance inside for the time being.
Also if you want a gfg in Patong, let me know, I think I remember talking to one who was into that and very sweet.
