I don't want to go to Phuket or Pattaya because I'm terrified of what might happen to me if I go there. It's not only the risk of being a target for terrorists, from freak waves or from a crazed anti-farang local high on yaba is too much for me. Or the fear that I might get sunstroke from the temperature. Or eat a dodgy prawn and get the runs. Or get run over by a bus. Or something similar. Maybe the beer glass I'm drinking from hasnt been washed properly. Or has a chip in it and I might cut my lip and bleed to death.
No, as scary as those things are, they aren't the reason I'll stay away from both.
What really terrifies me is that if I go to Pattaya or Phuket, I might start wearing muscle shirts, tattoo my neck and walk around the place complaining 'abart the farkin wevver'.
I think I'll stay in Bangkok. It's safer.

Phuket is/was a beautiful place and if you are really into the water activities and sight seeing then it is/was the place to go.
Pattaya is BG Mecca though. Inexpensive, friendly women in volume.
If you want the sights....Phuket.
If you want ladies........there is no place better than Pattaya.
I like ladies so I always choose Pattaya..besides I can always hop a boat to an island and hab big-big romance and play in the water or whatever.
Pattaya rules!!!

BTW...when I was in Patong Mid Feb, there were two big guys wearing black Farang ATM t-shirts - always down Soi Easy...trouble is, both wore these t-shirts every night I saw them...!!! I just hope they were washed every night, or had one for each night of the week...!
