I am very happy to hear that you have fallen in love with Thailand after having visited 0.001% of it. Please don't get me wrong and no, I cannot claim to have seen every square inch of this marvellous country, but there is more to loving a place than meeting a few locals (i.e. bar girls), sampling some of the local cuisine (i.e. pizza and Carlsberg beer) and seeing some of the local sights (i.e. the hotel you sleep in and the bar you sit at).
I'm not trying to be a wanker (it seems I don't have to try very hard to do that) but just pointing out some facts. Most "brothers" are up in arms about the 12 o'clock closing, for example, and cannot understand that the Thais would rather see less drunken yobbos on the streets than any of their precious "money". Most "brothers" are oblivious to the fact that the Thais are all laughing at them behind their backs, as they should.
Let me know when you are in Phuket again and I will be glad to show you:
1. A beach that is 10 times better than the one at Patong.
2. A bar where there are real elephants plus two gibbons (primates) that you can play with and no girls trying to get money from you.
3. A place where you can eat authentic Thai food for 25 baht.

Mate, how long you been in Thailand now ?? Someone told me you were a nice guy, what happened, you really should not try to preach to the whoremongers in here. There are also many people in here that know 500 hundred times the amount of stuff you have learnt since being here, they would laugh at some of your comments. If you want to preach, go to the highlands of PNG, buy a plane and load it up with bibles and go for it, bring some chicken and beef stockcubes for the pot and do the locals a flavour when they chew your sorry arse to ribbons.

Actually, NM, you are quite right about your criticisms of me. I don't know what's happened to me since I came here (pardon the pun). My respect and admiration for Thai people has skyrocketed and then when I see so-called (here I go again) "intelligent" farangs treating them like sh_t, well, gee it makes me mad.
I will take heed of your advice and cease the mindless pontificating and accept that some farangs just don't get it. I will get on with my life and try harder to keep my opinions to myself from now on.
I did not mean to upset any of the brothers (especially the overweight ones) and I apologise for doing so.

Anyway Whispy, I admit I am an ignorant sod and I have been here for a little while now, but 'I' could show 'you' a beach 10 times better than the beach you are going to show him is 10 times better, I can show you a bar where there are no elephants or annoying fcuking monkies, I could also show you one where there are plenty of boys trying to get your cash and I could show you any of 6 million roadside stalls where you can get authentic thai food for 25baht, but blind freddy has already been there.

Your right though, some foreigners just dont get it, but so what, should they really, they are here for a week or 2 holiday. Also how many god damn ignorant foreigners do you see in Oz that just dont get it also, but your not racing to their side. I am sure the Thais can look after themselves well enough without the likes of you or me or anyone else telling them. As for the foreigners, fcuk em, chill out and ignore them, except for the germans of course, only kidding.
