Anyone:
Are the Holiday Inn, Sunset Beach Resort or Club Adaman girlfriendly?
If you had to choose between them which one would you pick?
I can get a good deal ($55) for all three of them.
Any other recommendations for 4 star hotels in Patong?

I've booked the Impiana Phuket Cabana for a few nights in early May - anyone been there? GF?
Also planning a few dives of both the underwater and alternative variety.
Anyone going to be around and fancy a bit of joint fishing?

If it's where I'm thinking of (on the waterfront at Patong, a short walk from the nightlife) it's a pretty nice place to stay.
Not GF though - used to charge a B500 joiner fee. Best to change yr booking to 2 pax if poss.

Thanks for that. Had already taken the precaution of a double as this generally keeps things simple - and with most internet bookings the price doesn't seem to vary much.

The holliday inn is not GF and it dosen matter if you booked double or not, donīt stay there if you wanna have some girls with you back to the hotel

Agree Bono, from memory the "Joiner Fee' is about 800 Baht at the Holiday Inn, even then they give you the look of death!

I'll be giving the Salathai resort a try this week = 29th to the 3rd.
From what I've read, it is GF but I've taken the precaution of booking in as 2 people.
I'll let you know how it goes.

Get it in e-mail before you go.
As to getting a good hotel use the internet to learn about the properties and know what is offered and what will meet you needs.
http://www.latestays.com is a good discounter but you can also get the best rate, usually, at the last minute from the taxi driver comming in from the airport. Know the latestays prices and what will work for you. They will most get you the best price but oyu must know what you want as they will try to sell the room that pay them the most.
All that being said I don't use that methiod myself. I stay in the same room and the same hotel many times per year! I get a good rate but I get what I want!

BONO is totally correct and I would like to add that if you do wish to book in advance they will often waive the joyner fee to get the booking. I hear that booking are really off due to the over reacting to the thug violance in the south.
