Slept long and late and sorted myself out in the morning for a day of sightseeing.
Then horror upon horror, I had a problem, all my credit cards were missing from my wallet.
Why do I have these problems?, On another trip I lose my passport, but this was very serious at the time.
To this day I believe the police who had stopped me the night before had taken them.
I had to take the cards out of my wallet to show them my hotel card and it was the last time I ever saw them.
I remember putting them back, but as one body patted me, the other had my wallet and was looking through it.
But I felt safe being there, after all they were the police and surely were there to look after me?
Wherever I go, I take enough money to last me the first 3-4 days and then rely on the ATM's to get money when I need it.
Had to wait a few hours for the time difference to kick in and then ring home and get my mum to ring around and cancel the cards.
Also could she send me money by moneygram to a bank in bangkok?
Had to hang around the hotel waiting for her call and it took hours, but finally she called me and said all the cards were cancelled and I had to go to a certain bank the next day and the money would be there.
What a waste of a day.
Waited until the pub opened and had a ball with the manager and waitresses and enjoyed the resident band.
Decided to go for a soapy massage at the place I went the previous night, after all I knew where it was now and needed to release my passion.
Walked down the road and after the 20 minute walk was absolutely soaked in sweat.
Will I ever get used to the humidity.
Well the papasan remembered me and treated me like an old friend, with his arm around my shoulder and ordered a free soft drink for me while I made my choice.
I wish I knew then what I knew now, about asking for their recommendation, but I didn't have a clue.
