For my next vacation in Patong (january 03 ) i look 4 a new accommodation. Price around 1k and near the action. I was several time in the same guesthouse and now it's time to change.
Any info about " Jaranya " guesthouse sainamyen road ?
Any advices or input are welcome !!

CNN Hotel - a few steps from the action and very guest friendly will have small rooms for around that price
1K is pushing it a bit for January if it is withinn a reasonable walkiing/stagering distance of the action
Tuk Tuk Distance maybe in January for 1K but then you have to pay the Tuk Tuk each night

Jan is high season but there was no high season this year and with the impending move to remove Saddam we can expect the same, lowered tourist counts.
As to a hotel....I'd wait and see if the rate drops and do some e-mails to negotiate an discount rate or even a last minute booking site that offers good rates.

I stay same room every other month..Pool Terrace room at Thara Patong...www.TharaPatong.com, .5 meter from water with private area...night nude swim....good start for good Boom! less pricey deal should be offered this year...Who knows, mabey we can get 500 long Time again...

I sent some e-mails to different hotel and guesthouse.
Now i have to make a choice between C & N hotel 1100/night and Sheila's guesthouse Soi Sansabai
800-1000-1200/night

Sheila's is my favourite, well located-small guesthouse,guest friendly ( i guess !!) and rooms look very pleasant.

for a change i like to treat the girls to a good english breakfast.
get them to try different food.
sheila does the best fry-up in patong,IMO.
handy as well for me as i had to walk past it when i left my hotel in the mornings.
and the girls are normally hungry by then.
