I am going to Phuket for the first time, end of november. I think I will stay at the Marina Hotel in Katon Beach. I know it is not in the middle of action but that is partly why I am interested in the place. Anybody knows about the Marina Hotel? While in Katon, can I still find some ladies? I am not interested by the bar scene that much. What kind of option do I have here?

Theres no Katon Beach , is it Kata or Karon? Both have a small scene ( 30 or 40 bars), with a few freelancers hanging around in the daytime.

Beautiful Hotel.
On the rise at the south end of Karon Beach, nearly into Kata.....small bar area just in Kata if you walk, short taxi journey to the North to Karons main bar area.
I can't imagine this hotel is particularly guest friendly, but you never know.

The best feature of Marina Vilage is its restaurant that 'hangs' over the cliff, overlooking Karon Beach. The accommodation is clusters of bungalows set in amid dense, jungle-like foliage that was rife with mosquitoes and other irritating insects. IMO, the rooms are way too pricey.
If you come out of Marina and turn left, then walk on the opposite side of the road, you will come across a complex of bar beer as theyre called. Nothing remarkable but worthy checking out. best is to hire a scooty and go to Patong. Bit dodgy if you're pissed on the way back.

hehehehe...Karon to Patong when drunk...fantastic....anyone remember the hill as you leave Karon 12 years ago??.....mud road with ruts a foot deep....and I survived at 3am with more than a skin full inside me.....WHAT AN IDIOT!!!

I remember those dirt roads , the new roads have some nice features , like the hidden 6 foot drain ditches , along Nanai rd. Nice place to come off your bike.
