the phone rang,it was our alarm call and not welcome to Nok.
too early for her and again i had to just about pull her out of bed telling her it was our day out,taxi was coming and if she did'nt get ready we would miss it.
eventually we got our act together and we managed a quick coffee at the reception of the Hotel.
i had arranged a taxi to take us to the Zoo and soon it arrived.
we set off and i was confused,i had read the brochures of the Zoo and seen a map of where it was,but we seemed to be heading in the wrong direction.
we headed towards Karon and Kata beaches and while i enjoyed the views,i was sure the Zoo was more towards Pkuket Town?.
well he knew more than me i assumed and just sat back.
after around 45 minutes we arrived at the Zoo and we then had a problem.
he asked me what time i wanted him to pick up up for the return journey?,i was clueless,i did'nt know how long we would be.
i didnt want to arrange a time which meant we would have to rush or miss things.
i tried to explain this to him but as his English was not too good and he did'nt understand.
i eventually asked Nok to tell him he could and we would find our own way back to Patong.
he shrugged his shoulders and drove off.
i paid the 2 tier prices and picked up a little guidebook and off we went.
first laugh of the day was soon in coming,yards into the Zoo was a huge model of a gorilla and i just looked at Nok and laughed,she laughed and said "same same" while pointing at herself.
sometime in the past we had seen a TV programme which featured Apes/Monkeys and i had remarked her face was similar
she had laughed,but now she was having a joke at her own expense.
we started to walk around and the first thing we came was wonderful in my eyes,but also very sad.
2 Tigers chained to a dias and fast asleep,or so i thought.
the option was to have your photo taken wth them and i was really up for it,i love cats(big or small)and have 5 of my own at home,but Tigers are the best in my eyes.
i agreed and the handlers procedded to get the Tigers awake and with their actions i realised that the animals were so drugged up.
they had ther tails pulled,lightly beaten with bamboo canes and generally mauled a little until they were half awake.
i watched this and thought twice about having the photos,was it right for them to be treated like this?.
i was being urged on by the handlers and decided to go for it,wrongly i know to exploit these magnificent animals,but i wanted a photo with them,would i ever have anoher chance?
as they yawned and growled a little i told Nok to sit with them and i would take a photo,but she shook her head,"they bite,not good for me".
i asked her i i went first would she do it and she sad yes,so i took my place between them and the handlers took the polaroid and then she had her go.
they then asked if we wanted a photo together and we both sat between them had had the photo taken.
these photos are in one way a little sad, but they are highlights for me.
we continued to walk around and just looked at the exhibits and she would read the plaques and then ask about about the animal if she had'nt seen them before.
we got to the wild boar and she squealed with happiness,"I cook i eat at home,you eat in England?",i told her no,no boar in England.
she was not impressed with the snakes and just shuddered and walked away.
we reached the birds and she loved the Ostriches and picked the grass to feed them.
she went to put her hand through the wire mesh with fingers full of grass.
i told her no,they would take her fingers off,but she still wanted to,saying"me Nok,that Nok, i want to feed Nok".
i pulled her hand away and she gave me that look of hers,lips pursed together,eyes narrowed and furrowed brow and just said "I WANT".
i told her "i want,gets nothing",but i had a surprise for her and if she waited she would be happy.
we finally reached the Monkey cages and i bought her a bag of nuts to feed them with and she kissed me and was so happy.
45 minutes and 3 more bags of nuts later,i told her we must go and i again got 'the look',but again i told her i had a surprise.
i have some Video of her feeding the Monkeys and she was so happy,really enjoyed herself and i like to just watch it to see her smiling and laughing and having a good time.
i took her to a little arena and we took our seats.
i knew what was coming,but she did'nt and when a parade of Monkeys appeared,she clapped her hands and just said "same same me".
she loved the show with the Monkeys doing a variety of tricks and routines and clapped along at everything they did.
after the show she told me that she had had a pet Monkey as a young girl and she liked them so much.
she had now seen a sign which advertised an Elephant show and wanted to go and look.
had about 20 Minutes to wait,so we grabbed a quick Ice-Cream and then took our seats.
i was surprised at what the Elephants could do,considering how big and cumbersome they are.
but i was a little bored with the show,but Nok loved it as usual.
afterwards we passed by an area which offered Elephant rides and i offered to pay for her to have a ride,but she declined.
wanted to feed them instead,so i bought her a bunch of Banana's and gave them to her.
she f_cked up.
she went straight to the biggest one and held out her arm and as i went to grab her whilst saying "no",it was too late.
the Elephant took them all out of her hand,a bunch of around 10-15 Banana's and at first i laughed and was joined by the Handlers,but Nok was upset.
she pointed to the other 2 Elephants and said she wanted to feed them,but had no food left and i thought she was going to cry.
i hugged her and just told her i would buy some more food and she could still feed them.
she immediately smiled and jumped up and down and demanded food now.
i bought another bunch and explained 1 at a time and after that she had much fun feeding the Animals.
we finally went to the last show,the Crocodiles.
this was a bit mad in my opinion,the Handlers were pushing their luck in my opinion.
in a small area surrounded by these Animals and at times they got a bit close and there was 1 really big barstard in there.
but as the show went on,i realised how things worked.
i realised how the Handlers could do their show of putting their hands or heads in the mouths and no harm coming to them.
no real trick,just a natural act of the Crocs.
after the show we looked around the rest of the Zoo,found some more Monkeys to feed and then time to leave.
walked outside the Zoo and now i had the task of getting us back to Patong.
a few cars around and a couple of Tuk-Tuks,but i was not sure what to do and then some good luck happened.
got chatting to a German couple and they were in the same boat as us.
luckily the Wife spoke good Thai and got a Tuk-Tuk driver to take us all back to Patong for 200 Baht.
good price i thought,50 Baht each.
on the way back i chatted with the Germans and they looked at Nok and asked if she worked in a bar?.
i told them No,she was my wife,i saw no point in telling them she was what she was.
must have been obvious though,the way she was dressed.
back to Patong and as we walked down Bangla,i told Nok to go to her Bar and i would meet her there.
i went to the Photo Shop and asked for the films to be developed and was told they were so sorry.
they had had a rush and it would take a long time for the films to be processed,would it be alright if i came back in 75 minutes?.
i laughed and said "no problem",that is a short-time to me at the price they charged.
joined her back in her Bar and we sat there just having fun,chatting to her friends most of the Afternoon.
she made me get my Video out and show her friends what we had done during the morning.
she took delight in telling them(i hope)what a good time she had had and her friends loved what they saw.
i eventually went and got the Photos and they were passed around the bar for all to look at.
i'm sure Nok enjoyed being the centre of attraction.
around 6 we left the bar and had a bite to eat,shower and good sex and then a nap.
in the evening we just had a quiet night,i asked her what she wanted to do and she chose the bars and i went along with what she wanted,this was her day.
we visited places she had liked that i had taken her in and she wanted to finish the night in English Bar.
she had formed a good friendship with Lek(Danny's Wife)and always liked playing games with her.
we walked back to the Hotel and as we passed the Satay sellers outside the Sand Inn i heard"Falang,why you not eat?"
i turned and saw my favourite stallowner(Chef) and said i was not hungry and she moaned,"i need money to live/to buy food/to buy stock for the stall" etc.
i did like the girl,probably 14-15 and said OK and bought some food,even though i was not really hungry.
back in the room,after all the shower and things,Nok and i laid in bed and she told me that today had been so good for her.
i had taken her out for the day and shown her a good time and she was so happy,she had enjoyed herself and would never forget.
she then had a little weep,saying that i knew she went with many men,but she had to,there was nothing else she could do to help her family.
she told me she hated me being a Butterfly,she wanted me forself but understood i was on Holiday and could do anything i wanted,but it ripped her apart whenever she heard about me(or saw me) with another girl.
she said she was so happy that i had come back to see her that i had not forgotten her.
how could this happen i thought?,she is the greatest thing since sliced bread to me.
in the past she had told some big and little lies,but by now i had got over that.
all i wanted was to be with her.
i held her close and wiped away her tears,telling her she was the most perfect woman i had ever met and nothing would spoil anything between us.
but things did go pear-shaped the next day and things went wrong.

i have no problems for anyone asking for Photos.
ever since i have been a Member of this Forum i have exchanged Photos.
some are general,some are very private,and i have also received the same in return.
the last i received were last night and will remain private.
glad to know how you feel about your friends,that you have feelings are like i had.
i do have respect for them but i have had comments from other Members about what an arsehole i am for saying that.
it's a pity they do not read what i say and understand.

I have no problem with that, been twice in Thailand and have over 500 pictures from those trips. Never been to Phuket though, but might make it there this January.
I thought I read that you have given some pictures to some members here. That is why I asked only.
