Has anyone stayed at Valhalla hotel in phuket. If so what is your opinion of it. Would you recommend it.

Stayed there a few years ago and had a great time. Has its own Bar and Agogo. Rooms where good size but well used
They have a web site. You can have a search for it.
They are re-modling now and I am not sure about the rooms

i know they had trouble with the authorities early this year.
supposedly having underage foreign girls available to service the falang.
went to the go-go once,stayed for 5 minutes,left the beer infinished and have never returned.
always seemed quiet whenever i went that way.

Valhalla has been quite for a long time. They have had major problems with the authorities. When the hotel opened there was no license to operate a hotel, therefor those facilities were closed. Do not think that they actually have hotel rooms anymore.
Valhalla serves good food though, they do IMO rather tasty steaks.

Okey..
It is now a year later (almost, July 21th) . I hope to get enough time for a month in LOS.
The plan is one week in BKK (for the one must: visit Papa Marcs' friendly girls at Eden)
Then a week via Pattaya and Ko Samui down to Phuket for a forthnight. I plan to take a live-aboard a few days in Similian.. so.. now to the key issue for this post:
I love the site that Valhalla has. The picture of the VIP-room is great. I love the way the bath is placed.
The policy of "There are no additional costs for overnight-visitors" is also very attractive. No hazzle with a visitor is nice. Just as long as they register the girl(s) :D
Also, there is a pool (don't know the size) but you don't have to drag your carcass down to the beach to catch some rays after a long night. And that's also a "I like".
But if there is the same kind of hazzle as the previous authors have written about then I need to find another place. It should be near Bangla. Must be a pool area with chairs so I can soft in one (and don't have to fight a turf war with germans out plcing their towels at 7 am).
And most importand: Night visitors without hazzle.
What's the word nowadays???

It says on the Website it is only a few minute away from Soi Bangala, but whatr they don't mention is that its talking driving time!!!

Valhalla is probably only a 5 minute walk to Soi Bangla entertainment. Its on Soi Sunset right around the corner from Soi Bangla (away from the beach).

Sorry for digging up an old topic...
I'm looking around for a few places to stay whilst in Phuket. I was looking for something quiet yet different.
I like the sound of the Valhalla hotel (seeing how the owners want to make it sound VERY inviting for 'sanukers') and judging the room (VIP Room) from the website it seems ok.
Has anyone stay there recently since they remodelled? Do any of the regular Phuket guys recommend this place (When I mean recommend it I say judging by its location to the action yet being tucked away a bit to be quiet). I don't mind a small 5-10 walk to the action.
I wouldn't mind this place - provided I don't get too much negative feedback...
