G'day guys, im heading to LOS in a few months, spending most of my time in Phuket.
I noticed a bar on phketbobs website named Captain Kirks.
has anyone been there, if so whats it like.Also he seems to have some pretty cute girls with him, are they the usual standard or above or below average.
Any info.on decent bars like this, would be appreciated, or bars run by Aussies

IT duplicated by error? IT? It my ass. YOU duplicated by error perhaps. But still the two posts are separated by over half an hour. So the error must have been not so accidental. But somehow involving a finger pressing some keys.
My post was not neither great nor informative. It was just a question. Like yours was. Though not with such polite language as you used.

Sir, please understand Mr. Smegmas reaction. Your language was polite but your deed was not...
This forum is sometimes flooded with questions from occasional visitors who never UTFSE (use the f... search enginge) for their questions or do things like you did.
I can tell that Mr. Smegmas behaviour is very friendly at all and he has always been an excellent source of information on Phuket. So you might want to be friend with him to improve your preparation …

Not a fan of Two posts myself but I'll help ya anyway.
Captain Kirks is owned by an English guy called Adrian quite a pleasant guy. It is located in Soi Easy about three bars down on the left hand side.
He has just extended by buying the bar next to him.
Now for the girls. Probably as a whole the best looking bunch of girls in Patong (IMO) but there is a price to pay, also buy far and away the most mercinary. The majority of these girls always seem to lead the guys a merry dance. I know a few guys who have bar fined the girls then gone out drinking with them only for the girls to keep dissapearing for half an hour or so - " I just go see my friend" etc. etc. and expecting you to wait for them where they left you.
in my experience in Patong, especially when it's quite the standard norm for LT is 1, 000 bht, these girls will always demand two.
On the other hand I have also know guys who are very happy with the girls from Captain Kirks.
So up to you. Suck and see.
Also as a cautionary tale.
Guy likes a girl, decides to set her up in business - with a bar.
The girl says the key money is 7 million Bht. so the guy gives her the money. The actual key money was only 5 million Bht. so the girl lied to her boyfriend and pocketed 2 million for herself.
And I reckon you could wager that the bar is in her name as well.

Thank you for the valuable information but I have a couple of questions.
1. I, too, received an e-mail from my long time girl friend of the past two months and she wanted 10 million baht to buy a bar beer on Patong. She claims something called key money is 8 million and she will need at least 2 million until high season gets there. I guess my question is when is high season and will 2 million be enough until high season gets there?
2. My second question is about rent. She tells me the rent will be 65, 000 baht monthly and I will, of course, send this to her monthly. My question is..do you think I could get a discount on the rent by paying one year in advance or should I just pay it monthly?
I am sorry to hear of the recent demise of the former Patong expert. Maybe somebody with another name can take his place?
