Was mucking about on Priceline - heard that for £23 stg you could get the Marriott. Tried it at £20 - got it. Dont know it, and have never stayed North of the island.
I know it is remote - but I am going there for a few days of quality time with a TGF. Is it neccessary to hire a car - are the taxis scalpers?
Also how is the food here and are there any restaurants close to it.
Have scouted through the posts a little but would appreciate some direct feedback.
TU - I know you stayed here before - Would you stay again - and any advice

Great price. Yes definitely bring your own TG. This is a great place for an isolated vacation with that someone special. They have good food at the hotel an Thai, Italian, Japanese place plus deli.
I never went into town. They have their own private beach so no hawkers. It is very close to the airport. I just had the hotel limo pick me up and never left the hotel for the 3 day weekend. It is close to the airport.

How are the prices in the Hotel itself for beer food etc. A guy I know was bitching about the prices but didnt seem to remember if they were std 5 star prices or way above

I am thinking of going for two days to this hotel in September. I will bring a girl, but who? To be determined, up to me. Maybe NoEnglish, maybe CashierCutie or maybe the new love-of-my-life, Dew (CGFutureWife#29). Soi33CanDo is a possibility if her boyfriend is out of town. None of them have ever taken an airplane, so I want to take one of them so I can write an FR about that! They all have different personalities so I need to decide which one to take, depending on what I can expect there - me think me think too much.

I read that thread and appreciate the input there.
My question is about activities outside the hotel. You think there is anything of interest to me and a TG nearby? Or will we be completely bored and just have to make our own fun. Any opinions are appreciated.
I would go to Koh Samed, but it is actually faster to get to Phuket, especially staying at this place right near the airport.

Likewise, i'd like to Know if there are any possibilities of ordering IN a girl from the outside while staying at the Marriott? Can the bellboy order me a prime girl for the night to keep me warm? Do I have to go out and BF a girl? What can I do if I'm there at that hotel without a GF??

a bell boy ordering a girl for you is not standard procedure at a hotel of this class. you have to go out urself and find one, isn't that horrible?

The Marriott's company policy is "When you are comfortable you can do anything"
OK it takes me a nice TG BJ to get comfortable.
Give a shot and see if they really have 5 star service.
